Author's Note

Hello and welcome to my story. I'm inviting you in on something untraditional and strange. I admit you with no charge, except for one: suspend your disbelief. This story will be odd, sometimes awkward, oftentimes laughable, other times sweet, frequently spontaneous, but overall, fun. I encourage you to make fun of it.

This story will be unrealistic, yet I hope you find yourself relating to the characters. If you've ever had your heart broken by someone before, prepare to open old wounds. If you've found yourself waiting on a person to love you but never received closure, prepare to heal those wounds. I'm sure we've all felt at some point like no one could love us. Well guess what? Someone can. Someone does. I encourage you to reflect on that thought while reading.

I'm not editing this story. Not till it's finished, anyway. If you find mistakes, please welcome them and make them feel at home in my story. Give them a hug and say, "You belong here!" Because no project of passion comes without flaws, am I right?

If you read A Single Stroke (on my profile), then you might remember me writing a Story Behind the Story at the end. I'm doing that for this one, too. That is to say that yes, there is a story behind this story. Something did inspire this. Someone did inspire this. A broken heart did inspire this, and that may have been the same someone who inspired A Single Stroke.

All the credit in the world goes to Mary Shelly for writing Frankenstein. If you haven't read it, you should. You'll notice some connections. This is a retelling, though it deviates from Shelley's plot a little. This is a college romance. Adult fiction.

Thank you and welcome to my story. Proceed with caution.
