You meet N and Alex at the Ferris wheel and another girl has met them there. You don't know this girl, at least you think you didn't, but she's talking to Alex and N. She doesn't have an N anywhere on her clothing yet she was wearing Alex's black hoodie and N's baseball cap.
Oh! Hello trainer! I see you came to meet me and N. Oh, her? This is Fang. She just isn't wearing her uniform. I let Richard and Fang resign, but Fang insisted she stay with me e through this mess.
The camera/perspective zooms in on fang a little more to see the small girl smile Wide, revealing a sharp little tooth in her mouth, the source of her nickname.
Fang also has a deep caring for Pokémon. She also is giving me a chance at redemption for being a bad 'friend'...
N looks wistfully away as Fang takes her turn to speak.
Sorry for being cruel before! Just make my job! I'm Fang! It's a pleasure to meet ya properly! I was worried about Big Al over there for a little while until he quit and met N! There's no way I'm gonna let Alex be on his own! I owe him my life!
With that you go on the Ferris wheel. The view is exciting and there is a basic cutscene of you Four enjoying the view Andy then you all exit the ride Andy go separate ways, promising to meet up again soon.

You are alone after Alex went with Alexa, brainwashed, and Fang shows up in her normal uniform. She isn't out of breath and worried.
Have you seen Alex? Ever since he broke down in the desert he wasn't himself. Richard ran away and if Alex isn't himself...I'll have no one. He saved my life...I can't let him be dragged down. Please! Help me find Alex!
If you tell her what happened Fang will thanks you and run off to find Alex. If you don't bring Jon the battle with Alex she'll be saddened and just walk away, clutching her fists and muttering things to herself.
The story merges together down one path again as the next plotpoint is in Driftveil city where you happily run into Jason, Aria, and Alice. In spite you are forced into a Pokémon battle. Their Pokemon are in the low forties range. It is a triplet battle with Vileplume, Electrivire, And Alolan Ninetails. After victory they run off and leave behind a key.
That key will be prime to figuring out the next part of the game.
