"that is so no fair!' eddie whined. "you had a head start! and i had to grab the key!" he put a pout on his face and richie embraced him. 

"you didn't have to grab the key." richie pointed out. 

"oh yeah and we'd be locked out." he groaned. 

"sure, or we could have gotten another key." eddie hated how richie always had a defense. 

"did you want to pay for it?" he mumbled into richie's chest ignoring the fact he still had him in his grip. 

"you know i wouldn't have minded..." he trailed of. "love." he said shortly before pushing eddie into the water. key, towel, and all. 

richie chuckled when he noticed. "oh shit." he exclaimed. he dropped his things into a chair and dived into the pool opening his eyes under the water to find the key. once he found it he grabbed it and set it with the rest of their belongings. 

"you dick." eddie laughed splashing water into his direction. 

"you needed a spice in your life."

"i hope this pool has been cleaned." eddie thought aloud. 

"hey..." richie swam towards eddie. "we're on vacation, from everything." richie emphasised the everything. 

"even being straight?" eddie joked.

"oh honey, i was never that." the two headed to the shallow side. or at least, shallow for the almost six foot tall richie. 

"ugh hold me i'm tired." eddie swam towards richie and wrapped his legs around him not wanting to tread the water any longer.

"you're such a baby." richie pointed out. 

"i'm your baby." eddie whispered. part of him hoped richie didn't hear. 

the two swam around a bit longer until an idea came to richie's mind. "let's have a competition. who can hold their breath the longest!"

"is that even a competition?" eddie asked. 

"oh! for you it is!" richie teased. "ready? one-two-three!" he said before putting himself under water. after the first few seconds he opened his eyes. eddie must have felt him staring because he opened his eyes shortly after. 

to richie's surprise eddie was doing quite well. he had to do something about it, so he did the only thing that came to mind. he kissed him. well, it was more like a peck but everything felt slow motion. 

eddie pulled himself out of the water and richie followed. "i win!" he exclaimed.

"what no!" eddie fought back. 

"what are you talking about you came up i totally won!" 

"but you cheated." richie had a smirk on his face.

"fine let's go again." he suggested.

"fine!" eddie accepted. 

"fine!" they both went under again and kept their eyes open once more. 

they held eye contact for a while, unexpectedly eddie was the one to lean in first this time. once their lips connected they never detatched. 

the boys came up from under the water and gave each other quick, but passionate, short kisses. richie began to smile. "what was that for?" he inquired. 

"sorry," eddie began. "your sharks were just really turning me on." he teased.

"oh so you're turned on?" richie joked while wiggling his eyebrows. 

"what?! no! bleh!" eddie made weird faces with his words. 

"gosh," richie held his hand to his chest. "didn't know i was so repulsive."

"stop!" eddie giggled and he swam closer to richie. he wrapped his arms around his neck to support himself knowing that his toes would not be able to reach the bottom. 

"eddie," richie whispered as he held the small boy closer to him. eddie hummed against his chest as the two stood still in the water. "will you be m-my b-b-boyfriend?" richie stuttered. 

"i didn't know stutters were contagious." eddie repeated the words that were once used as an insult against himself. he began to notice how nervous richie actually was. instead of answering with words eddie quickly attached his lips to richie's once more.

"of course i will." he answered when they pulled apart.
