It was time.

It was the end of the day, and everyone was leaving to go home. Before Yaoyorozu left, she gave a thumbs up to Todoroki. His only response was a simple nod. He had no issue with meeting up with Midoriya, and he wasn't exactly nervous, but he couldn't help but feel a bit jittery. After all, this was his soulmate, and that was a pretty big deal.

Todoroki waited outside patiently until everyone left. About two minutes later, Midoriya exited the building and approached Todoroki. It was quite obvious that he was both excited and nervous for it. Todoroki thought that it was kinda cute, but quickly ignored that thought.

"Hey! Sorry, were you waiting long?" Midoriya asked.

"Nope."

"Ok, good! Shall we head to the city area then?"

"Sure, sounds good."

Thankfully, Shouto's father had been doing work in a different area. He made sure to keep track of time so that he knew when to head back. If his father knew about this, well... it wouldn't be good that's for sure.

When they made it to the area, it was crowded as usual. Midoriya started to wonder if this was really the best location for this type of occasion. He lead Todoroki to a small cafe. It wasn't as mesmerizing as the one Todoroki worked at, but it was definitely a really nice cafe. The two boys ordered food and drinks, and sat down in one of the booths, sitting across from each other.

"So uh, I guess we should start asking questions about each other?" Todoroki asked. He instantly internally facepalmed at the awkwardness of his tone. He wondered how Momo, and probably most other people with soulmates, got used to having a soulmate quickly. Fortunately, Midoriya payed no mind to the awkwardness of his tone.

"Sure! I guess I'll go first." Midoriya thought for a minute before looking back at Todoroki. "Favorite food?"

"Hm... cold soba. You?"

"Interesting! I like katsudon."

Todoroki and Midoriya spent the next half hour just going back and forth asking each other questions about each other. They ended up finding out that they shared quite a few hobbies and interests. They got to know a bit about the other, and the questions never got too personal which was relieving for the both of them.

Once they finished their food and drinks, they decided to walk around a bit outside. Midoriya was relieved that so far things were going pretty well, other than the occasional heart flutters that he couldn't control. The same went for the other boy, yet he would internally freak out because of the heart flutters. He still wasn't quite used to them yet.

"This is nice," Midoriya said as they walked. Todoroki glanced at him before replying.

"Yeah, this is going better than I expected, considering you're my soulmate and all which kind of caused me to get slightly nervous. I'm glad that I'm getting to know you better as a soulma-" Todoroki quickly slapped his hand against his mouth. Oh how he hated those symptoms.

Dammit, not again. I need to practice Yaoyorozu's technique. I never speak like this! I hate these stupid symptoms.

Midoriya stopped walking. He blushed and turned to look at Todoroki. "Wait... so does that mean you... you're ok with having a soulmate? Me specifically?" Todoroki's heartbeat started to speed up, and he punched his chest as a weak attempt to calm his heart down. He was truly dense sometimes. Midoriya gasped and asked if he was alright.

"Yeah, sorry. I uh... yeah. I guess that's what I mean."

Gosh it was getting so awkward. Both boys were now standing still with light blushes on their cheeks. Todoroki felt more awkward though since he was still not used to these strange feelings. They honestly did not know what to say. People who were walking along the streets and sidewalks gave the two boys weird glances as a way of asking, "What are you doing? Why are you two just standing there? Move out of the way."

"Ah- we should probably start walking," Todoroki suggested. Midoriya blinked and began to notice that they were in people's ways.

"Yeah! That's a good idea."

So they began to walk, and boy oh boy things got more and more awkward. As they walked in silence, they internally facepalmed because neither of them knew what to say to the other. They were soulmates, so why was this so difficult? Todoroki finally managed to build up some courage, and opened his mouth to speak. "So," he began, "now that we're like... cool with being soulmates and stuff, does that technically mean we're-" he paused. It took him so much courage to finish his sentence with a strange word he thought he'd never say in his life. "-dating? Like... a couple?" The words soulmate, dating, and couple made Midoriya blush more and more. The two boys were practically suffering due to the awkwardness and blushing.

"I think so," Midoriya replied, "I mean isn't what it basically means to have a soulmate?"

"I- oh. You're right."

How could he not remember that? "Soulmate" is pretty much the synonym of "partner." Just the thought of having a partner made Todoroki feel strange. For pretty much his entire life so far, he had never really gotten close to anyone, not even as a friend. Now, he managed to find his soulmate I)and confirm that the other was ok with having him as a soulmate, as well as making a new acquaintance.

Todoroki felt like if this continued, he would die from awkwardness. He just decided to blame every awkward feeling on the symptoms. The stupid, dreadful symptoms. Midoriya also looked like he was about to die from awkwardness because his face was now as red as Kirishima's hair. They both decided that now would be a good time to call it a day

"Today was fun! I'll see you at school!" Midoriya called out as they parted ways.

"I agree, see ya," he replied.

Huh. Fun. I had fun. This is so weird... Today I've felt so many things that I haven't felt since I was a child. Ah, I shouldn't think too much of it.

As much as he hated being open and stuff, he decided that it would probably be best to ask Momo more about soulmates. He thought that it would be best to know someone who could help out and give advice, which was pretty new to him. When Todoroki got back to his home, he stopped walking towards the house when he noticed something. Some of the lights in the house were on.
