To be completely honest, this was not what Midoriya had expected to happen that day.

After the school day was over, Midoriya said his goodbyes to everyone, and began to pack up his notebooks. As he finished packing up, he nearly dropped his book as he heard a familiar voice yet again.

"Aye, Deku," Bakugou said. The tone of Bakugou's voice startled him. His tone was harsh as usual, but it almost seemed a bit... calmer?

"Kacchan? What... what's up?" Midoriya replied, slowly taking step back.

"Tsk. Just listen." His tone went back to its usual way, which was not a surprise. "And don't even think about speaking until I'm done, got it?" Midoriya quickly nodded, so Bakugou continued.

"I know you've met your soulmate, and I know it's half-and-half. Don't even try to deny it, you're not slick," he said as Midoriya's eyes widened. "It's practically written all over your face, and your tattoo is gone. It's obvious. I don't even know how someone like you wasn't rejected, but that's not the point. You know about soulmates, so clearly you know about how that stuff works or whatever. I..." he paused for a moment, before shaking his head. "There's someone I know who met their soulmate recently. This person's soulmate has really shitty hair, and they don't understand why this person is even their soulmate. Soulmates are stupid, so it's not like I care, but this person needs to know how to get rid of this stupid nervous feeling."

Ah. Midoriya understood. As it turned out, Bakugou was just as terrible at being slick as he was. He held back a smile as he realized that this was Bakugou's way of asking for advice. "So," Midoriya started, "do you know how you- I mean this person feels about their soulmate? This person doesn't want to reject their soulmate, right? After all, it's really rare. It seem kind of odd to..." he began to mutter his thoughts on the topic, completely forgetting about the current situation. Classic Midoriya.

"God, how the hell am I supposed to know? It's not like I'm that person!"

Mhm, sure... Midoriya thought.

"Ok, well," Midoriya thought for a minute, "maybe this person should try to get to know their soulmate first, before thinking about the future. Just let it happen naturally, you know?"

Bakugou stood in silence for a moment, before he scoffed. "Whatever. It's not my problem, anyway."

And just like that, the conversation was over, and Bakugou was heading towards the door. Midoriya let out a deep breath, picked up his bag, and headed out of the school building.

Well that was something... I wonder who his soulmate is.

As he walked, he noticed that he wasn't far from the cafe Todoroki worked at, and that sparked an idea in his mind.

"Testing testing, one two three!"

Midoriya waited for only a few seconds, before he heard a response. Distance experiment: Complete and successful.

"Midoriya, are you near the cafe? You startled me. I almost dropped my croissant."

"Pft, nice reference."

"Reference? I'm not quite sure I know what you mean. Sero just laughed at me for almost dropping it, so I'm blaming you. He just compared me to Aoyama, I'm kind of confused..."

"Ah, does he know about...?"

"Yep. Honestly, I'm pretty sure the whole class knows. I'm not too worried about it, though."

"That's good! I apologize for almost making you drop food haha."

"It's fine, at least I have decent reflexes."
