Chapter 23:
Damaged TARDIS, Fixed World
The Doctor and his companions held on tight as the TARDIS flew fast. The Doctor quickly checked the console and altered the direction of where the TARDIS was flying. His hands flew onto the railing behind him. Finally, the TARDIS shook as she hit the invisible wall, the sound of broken glass echoing through every corridor.
"What... did we... just hit?" Jacob asked.
"Another invisible wall. I think that was the last one." Bridget replied. She noticed a locket with a rose engraving wrapped around Jacob's wrist.
"Doctor, what's the weather like on the Earth below us?" Castiel asked.
"Planning on going to a rock band concert?" Dean teased.
"It's sunny." The Doctor raised his brows in surprise. "Everywhere it's sunny. Not even snow in Antartica!"
"That's impossible. That's not a good thing." Sam said.
"Is it the Primers?" Clara asked.
"No, it's my followers." Castiel replied. "The angels whom I command. I asked them to put a weather spell, so when everything is fixed, it will be sunny everywhere."
"Is that your phone?" John asked Bridget.
"I think so. I thought I'd be out of range." Bridget said. "You did the thing to my phone didn't you?"
"Yes." The Doctor replied.
"Thanks, Doctor." Bridget said, answering her phone. "Bridget."
"Bridget, what is going on?" It was Jess.
"I was doing a project on London when a news article poped up- a real one- freaturing Sherlock Holmes! Want to explain that?" Jules asked.
"Saving the world has its drawbacks. I have to go. I'm going to save the world."
"Bye, Bridget." Jules and Jess chimed.
"Apparently you're in a news article my friend looked up." Bridget said to Sherlock.
"I have been in the papers a few times." Sherlock replied.
"Sherlock Holmes isn't a fictional character anymore?" Sam asked.
"That's going to be a little weird." Damon said.
"Yeah." Elena agreed.
"So where now?" Caroline asked.
"I think you all know the answer to that one." The Doctor replied.
"Douche Central." Dean said.
"No, that's the weird part." The Doctor said.
"What happened to all of the others?" Clara asked.
"It seems as if they were controlled. When Monahan comitted suicide, the connection broke." The Doctor explained.
"So home, then?" John asked, hopefully.
"Yes." The Doctor replied.
The TARDIS engines started. Soon, the TARDIS landed in London. Bridget felt a lump in her throat as the TARDIS doors opened.
"It was a pleasure adventuring with you." John shook Bridget's hand.
"An honor." Sherlock said, shaking her hand.
"You still are kinda a psychopath." Bridget teased.
"I'm not a psychopath I'm a high-functioning sociopath who has just done his part in saving existence." Sherlock replied. "I don't think I've ever said this to anyone, but you must promise me, when this is over, to continue. You have a heart for adventure. Make sure it beats."
"I promise." Bridget replied.
"You know this wasn't as scary as I thought." Jacob said in the TARDIS. "Adventuring... I want to do more."
"My mom used to say all the time that I was always an adventurer." Bridget said.
"I'm sorry to hear that." Caroline said.
"Yeah, I know the feeling." Elena said. "I lost both my parents."
"How has Mystic Falls been?" Bridget asked.
"Better after the Travelers." Caroline replied, putting on a white wool shawl. She fingered her daylight ring; a blue, square lapis lazuli with a metal diamond in the center.
"What are those rings for?" Sam asked, looking at their rings.
"They're daylight rings. They're spelled to protect us from the sun." Elena explained. Elena's was a small, blue oval. Damon's was a big oval with the letter "D" on it.
"So you do burn." Dean nodded.
"This isn't Twilight." Damon replied.
"That sucked." Dean said, opening a bottle of beer. "Now that almost everything is real, I'm going to someday gank that son of a bitch."
"I'll join you." Damon said, drinking his bottle.
"See? Damon gets me." Dean said.
"Yeah, Dean one and Dean two." Sam said, taking a sip of his beer.
"You guys like Kansas?" Bridget asked. They nodded.
"You know Carry On My Wayward Son?" Bridget asked.
"That's an awesome song." Dean replied.
"Some story you'll write." Clara said, hugging Bridget. "The endings are always the worst."
"See, that's the thing. Stories don't have an end. They're just waiting for their continuation." She replied. "We'll probably run into each other in a year or two."
"Bye, Bridget." Sam said, giving her a light hug.
"Say safe." The Doctor said, hugging Bridget.
Elena and Caroline hugged her goodbye. Caroline looked too teary-eyed to speak. Cas hugged her goodbye. Damon shook her hand.
"Bye, guys." Bridget said, turning to leave. Jacob stood on the sidewalk outside. Before Bridget took a step out of the TARDIS, someone hugged her from behind. She looked up into the golden hazel eyes of Dean Winchester.
"Bye, Bridget." Dean said. "Don't go Hunting by yourself."
"Alright, I won't, promise." ***
My heart kept as the TARDIS disappeared. My face turned red as my lips met with Jacob's. I know now I was right about one thing. Stories don't end. Not really.
Guys, don't worry! The Bridget Kay Adventures comes out TOMORROW! Be sure to read it after 7-8 PM tomorrow!
