I thought Aidan would be iffy about spending the night with some new faces, but he was good and just walked in, and immediately bonded with this other little boy about some action figure of his.
I barely had time to thank the lady who was watching them, she was a pack healer, and preferred to watch the pups, before Emily grabbed my arm and pulled me back to the car. "Okay, so the dance is going to be held in a place that's about 5 minutes from here. You'll see," Emily said before turning up the radio, blaring New Rules by Dua Lipa.
I tapped my foot to the beat, as my nerves built up inside me.
We pulled up to a huge building, with a bunch of cars parked, and people walking in. They all looked so.... nice and put together. Emily linked her arm in mine, and we walked in.
I could hear the sounds of laughter and voices, while music blared through out the building.
It didn't look how I thought it would, it looked so classy and nice. Definitely expensive. Everyone had on expensive suits and dresses, and I'm glad I listened to Emily when she told me it was this type of occasion. My eyes quickly averted to the man in the black suit. His hair perfectly styled. Vincent. As he laughed with some blonde girl in a tight black dress, with some areas having mesh designing. It was a cute dress. But, something inside me was eating me up over the fact he was with that girl. 'Do you think that's the girl he's sleeping with?' My wolf asked, submerging from my head. After three years of her being, well, gone, she finally says something. 'I'm pretty sure there's more than one girl.' I replied, feeling the sting that shot through my heart. Why couldn't I have just not been rejected those three years back?
Vincent's eyes met mine, as he ran his eyes over my body slowly. I looked away, and left to find Emily. "Emily I -" I was caught of guard when I saw her lip locking with some stranger. "Oh I'll come back later," I said, about to turn around when they pulled apart. "Olivia. This is Hunter. My mate." She said smiling, happy to finally be with her mate again. He smiled and said hi, and I returned it. Before letting them get back to there 'catching up.' I don't know what it was, but the thought of Emily finding her mate again after all these years, and being with him, made me sad. Because deep down, i wanted that. But I couldn't. "Olivia, you look nice." I heard a deep voice say from behind me. I jumped a little, not expecting it, before turning around to meet the eyes of Vincent. "Thanks. So do you," I said quietly, I turned on my heel to leave when he grabbed my forearm and spun me back around to his view. What is he doing? His blue eyes were replaced with a glowing yellow, showing his wolf was in control right now. "Don't leave." He growled, before pulling me chest to chest with him. Sparks I remembered from all those years ago, erupted through out my body dangerously. "What are you doing?" I asked, trying to ignore the voice in my head telling me to get closer to him. Before I could comprehend his next move, he cupped my face, and crushed his lips onto mine. I astonished to say the least. I craved for this since the day I left, but I won't allow a repeat. I'm not going to be used again. "Mmm - stop." I said trying to push him off me. I pushed him back, hard. He stumbled back, looking hurt. "What's wrong?" He asked, as if he didn't know. "You rejected me. You used me. You told me you didn't want me. So don't try and kiss me." I said coldly, I saw him silently flinch from my harsh tone. "Look, we need to talk." He said. "We just did." I said turning around. "Aidan's going to be living with me." Well that escalated quickly.
I stopped dead in my tracks, "excuse me?" I said turning to meet his eyes. "Aidan's going to live with me." He repeated, no emotion in his voice. "I've taken care of Aidan for four years. Four Years. I know what he likes, what he doesn't, what's best for him. Vincent i love Aidan with every cell in my body. You are not, taking him away from me. You rejected me. For partying, sleeping around, and whatever else you do. While you did that, I was pregnant, gave birth, and raised Aidan. So you no, you will not be taking him away from me." I said holding my glare. "He needs to be raised and trained to be the next alpha. He can't do that if he's only here every two weeks. I'm sorry, but I already talked to the council, and they agree. Starting Tuesday he'll be living with me." He said as if I were to just agree, let it go, be okay with him taking my son away from me. "No. He won't. I've lost my mom, my dad, my mate, I refuse to watch my own son be taken away from me. He's all I have." I whispered, for a second I saw guilt in his eyes, but as fast as it came, it was gone. "I'm sorry. But it's final." He said before walking back over to the blonde he was originally with, leaving me heartbroken. Again.
