Blackness. It consumed me. I thought I was dying, but there was no light. No peace. Just coldness, darkness, and emptiness. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't escape it. I couldn't leave. Like a nightmare I couldn't wake up from.

My eyes fluttered open, the lights burning my eyes, blurring my vision. "Alpha. She's awake," I heard a voice say, although it sounded muffled. I scanned the room, trying to recognize my surroundings, but I couldn't. Until I met the eyes of one person who could calm my nerves by one glance. Vincent. He looked like a mess, bags under his eyes, his hair a mess, the whites of his eyes bloodshot red. "Baby, I thought I'd lost you." He whispered before enveloping me in a tight hug, nuzzling his head into the crook of my neck, inhaling my scent to calm and reassure his wolf. I hugged him back, drawing patterns on the small of his back as he held me close to him. "What happened?" I asked, my voice raspy from not using it. "You were attacked. By a rogue. We don't know how we entered our territory but he managed to get through, without his scent being detected. He was killed though, his bodies in the dungeon." Vincent said, his eyes darkening at the memory of the rogue. "Where's Aidan?" I asked worriedly. I hadn't seen him since I was attacked and god only knows how he was left in the care of Vincent who looked as if he hadn't slept in three weeks. "Relax. He's with Emily. She came when I called her, asking her to watch him after the attack. She came with Aidan to visit a lot, they'll be here later as well." I nodded, resting my head back down on the fluffy white pillow. "How long was i out for?" I asked, looking at Vincent who looked sleep deprived. "5 days. They put you in a medical induced coma, to help with the healing." He mumbled, his eyes slowly fluttering shut and back open again. "Come here." I said patting the empty space next to me. He shook his head, "you need rest." He said. "Vincent, please." I asked, again patting the empty spot next to me. He sighed before getting in. Warmth and immediate comfort quickly followed at the single touch of his. I pulled the blankets up, snugging into him. As soon as he closed his eyes he was out, I knew he was exhausted. I kissed his cheek, snuggling closer into him. Enjoying his touch and scent.
"Rise and shine," someone said before they pulled the curtain open, nearly blinding me at the sudden amount of light. My sight was blurred for a few short seconds, but when it cleared up, I saw Emily and Aidan standing there, smiles on both their faces. "Mommy!" Aidan squealed before jumping up, and laying on me. "I missed you, baby." I said, placing a kiss on the top of his head. "Has he been good?" I asked looking up to meet Emily's ocean blue eyes, she smiled and nodded. "The best." She said. I nodded, happy that he wasn't too much without his parents. "So, how are you and hunter?" I asked smirking. Her face flushed, as a smile broke out across her face. "We're amazing," she said dreamily, I smiled. I was happy for her. She got that feeling of peace. Like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders. And lost that pain of rejection. "What time is it?" Vincent groaned, stirring awake from his much needed sleep. "Uhhh," Emily looked down at the watch on her wrist, before looking back at us, telling us it was 4:08 in the afternoon. "Damn, we slept for a long time," Vincent said yawning. I nodded in response, before attempting to look down at my huge bandage around my neck. But of course, it was no use because I couldn't see anything, but I could feel it. And it hurt like a son of a gun. "Hey, stop moving so much. You'll hurt yourself." Vincent said, placing a hand on my shoulder to insure I'd stop all movements. I huffed before dropping my head back into the white pillows. "Any way, we gotta get running, we'll be back to visit tomorrow. But it's getting late." Emily said getting aidan off the bed, i kissed him cheek and told him a loved him, Vincent doing the same, before they left. I closed my eyes again, feeling tired even though I just slept, but fell Into another dreamless sleep.
