"And you expect us to believe you? A complete stranger?" Vincent snapped. Apparently he did not receive the quiet memo. Although his wolf was probably on edge due to this mysterious girl on his territory.

I had a sneaking suspicion she meant no harm, call it intuition. She seemed terrified for her life.
"Please, do as I say. You don't have much time left, your boy will not survive into next week if he isn't taken out of this place." The girl whispered, her tone clearly displaying her panic. "But he's sick, we -", "You mustn't trust anyone's word, remember that," the woman said, cutting me off, before fading into the darkness of the room. "Did she just disappear?" I asked Vincent, glancing up to him. What was going on?

I looked over at Aidan, wondering if what the woman had said was true. If so, what did it mean?
"Primordial? What is that?" I asked Vincent, his eyes darkening at the mention of the word. Whatever it was, it must not be good. His jaw clenched as he stared at Aidan, "Primordials were the first werewolves known in existence. The strongest and fastest of our kind. Their offspring didn't carry their strength and speed, and it continued that way for generations. If a wolf contains the spirit of a Primordial, it means he or she possesses that strength and speed. At full maturity, Aidan will outrank any wolf in existence. He's a threat to any Alpha who wishes to hold dominance in the werewolf hierarchy." I felt fear blossom inside of me at the new information I had received. What did they have planned? Who was out to hurt my child? "What exactly are you saying?" I questioned Vincent. His gaze met mine, his eyes holding complete seriousness, "I'm saying that if what that woman said was true, Aidan isn't safe here." Vincent said, not even hesitating for a second as he walked over to Aidan's hospital bed, removing all the medical machines attached to him and picking him up out of the bed.

"We're leaving," he said as he carried a sleeping Aidan out of the hospital room. I trailed behind him, a million thoughts running through my mind. What happened to Aidan being sick? Had Dr. Davids lied to me and tried to kill my son? How were we supposed to protect Aidan when we didn't even know who was after him?

"What happens now?" I asked quietly, "How can we protect Aidan if we don't even know who or what is after him?" Vincent didn't even turn around, he just kept his fast pace towards the pack house. "We don't trust anyone, not until they prove their loyalty," he mumbled. I figured he was going to ignore my question, but I guess I was wrong. How was he going to get anyone to prove their loyalty?

"Alpha, Luna, how is everything?" I heard a voice say from behind us as we entered the pack house. I turned to meet the eyes of Riley, it had been a while since I had last seen him. I guess I've spent a lot of time at the hospital recently. "Everything is fine Riley," Vincent said, his voice holding no emotion. I'm assuming he didn't want Riley to think anything was wrong, or that we knew information we weren't supposed to know, in case Riley wasn't with us. But from what i knew of him, he didn't seem like the type to be involved in whoever was out to kill our son. But I can't assume, not in this type of situation.

Riley seemed confused by his Alphas coldness, I knew he and Vincent were close. "Everything is fine, don't worry Riley." I said reassuringly, as I smiled warmly at him. "Alright," Riley replied, before heading upstairs to bed I'm presuming. His shift on border patrol was over and he was probably wiped. I felt bad for the wolves who had to stand by their posts for long hours and protect the pack from when rogues tried to attack.

I followed Vincent as he headed towards his bedroom. Once inside, he placed Aidan onto his bed tucking him in, and sat on the end of the bed. I sat next to him, staring down at my fiddling hands. "This changes everything, Olivia." Vincent sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. He was right. "I know, what do we do?" I asked at a lost, looking up to his face that was conflicted with many different emotions. "Honestly, I don't know. I can protect him, but I need to know whose with us and whose against us." Vincent growled, his wolf not pleasant with the idea of his own pack members betraying him. "How are we supposed to find that out?" I sighed, we can't just assume everyone's innocent until proved otherwise. If we made a mistake with who we lent our trust too, someone may end up dead.

"I'll call in a favour to somebody who owes me, she'll be able to figure out who in this pack is a traitor. But until then, you don't trust anyone besides Victoria and I, okay?" He said sternly. I hadn't seen Victoria since the night Vincent asked me to become Luna. Before everything got even more complicated then it already was. I nodded my head in agreement with what he said. He knew his pack better then I did, I'd let him decide who he thought was trust worthy.

Tonight's events had completely changed everything. I couldn't leave anymore, my son wasn't sick, it was an elaborate plan set up to kill Aidan and we had to protect him from jealous alphas and rogues. How could I have not noticed he was more then an average wolf? What would've happened if I had never brought him back here? I wouldn't of been able to protect him on my own. I could've gotten him killed by keeping him away from Vincent his entire life.

I sighed, terrified for whatever fate the future held for us. Vincent grabbed my chin gently, forcing me to make eye contact with him, "Everything is going to be okay. I'm going to make sure of that," Vincent said, noticing my distress. "I'm assuming we're outnumbered Vincent, you're only one man." I frowned. "Your lack of confidence in me is disappointing," Vincent said smirking, "I'm serious, Vincent." Didn't he understand that he couldn't take this on alone? "I know, I know. We have allies, we just have to find them. And when we do, I'm going after whoever is trying to kill my son," Vincent growled, I smirked at his protectiveness. It was adorable. "Our saviour, the big bad alpha," I said sarcastically, watching him narrow his eyes playfully, "You know it," he replied, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me onto his lap. He moved my hair out of the way, before lowering himself into the crook of my neck. Shivers ran down my spine as I felt his warm lips on my neck, biting and kissing on the area where he should've marked me, my body became hot from his touch. His hands gripped my waist, as I squirmed in his lap, his grip on my waist tightening as he trailed his lips up to ear, "You need to get some sleep, we have a big day tomorrow." He whispered, before pushing me off his lap and walking into the bathroom.

He was right, we had to find and contact whoever it was that owed him a favour.

I crawled into bed next to Aidan, slipping under the warm blankets as Vincent's scent engulfed me. His bed was dripping in his scent, go figure. I would probably smell like him into next week.
Deciding now was probably not the time to be worried about smelling like Vincent, I closed my eyes, not realizing how tired I actually was until now, as darkness consumed my mind.
