*A Month Later*

So, this is it. This is the day. I have to do it. It's been a month since I have known Kylie and I have already fallen for. Hard. She's so pretty and simple. Who wouldn't fall for her? She loved math so much that she could marry it. I found it so cute.

Everytime she smiled at me, everything around us would disappear and it would only be us.

I have to ask her out. But, I wonder if it's too early and I have no clue how to either. So, I go over to Mike's house.

I knock on the door and his mom opens it. "Hello Mrs. Wheeler. Is Mike home?" She nodded and let me in.

I ran down to the basement and found him sitting in the fort he made for El. God, he's miserable without her.

"Hey Mike!" I say and he looks at me with his tear stained cheeks. Aw.

"Hey man, you alright?" He sniffles and says with a cracked voice, "Yeah Will. It's just that I miss her a lot. Hopper won't even let us be together. Do you need something?"

Tell him, he won't freak out.

"Yeah, actually I need your help. I need to ask someone out and have no idea how to." Mike smiles widely at me and starts laughing. "Kylie? It's Kylie right?" He says while trying not to laugh.

"Yeah, how'd you know?" I ask.
"It's about time. We all know you like her." He says while making kissy faces at me.

"Mike, are you going to help me or not?"I ask clearly irritated. He draws a long breath and tells me the plan.

"Awesome! So, this weekend then?" I ask
"Yep!" He replies.

I hope she'll say yes. And, I am going to tell her my big secret.

✿Kylie✿

I am riding my bike over to Jane's house. It's a month since I've been tutoring her and we have grown pretty close. She's amazing and a quick learner. I feel so proud.

As I am riding to her house, I come across Will in his brothers car. He gives me a faint smile and waves at me. I smile back at him.

God, I don't know what it is about Will. I really find him fun to be around and he never fails to make me laugh. He's so cute when he talks about his brother and the music they listen to together. I really like him. But, I don't think he'll ever like me back  if I ever ask him 'cause I'm not the ideal girl. I don't have fair skin and I have jet black hair and black eyes.

I reach Jane's  house and knock onto the door. She opens it and gives me a wide smile, "HEY KYLIE!" I say back trying to match her excitement, "Hey JANE!" She smiles and lets me in.

I sit on the chair that I always sit on, with her sitting opposite me.

"Kylie, can I ask you something?" She asks in a shy voice.  I smile back at her and say, "sure!"

"Will you be my best friend?" I give her a pout and say, "I thought we already were," in a sad voice. She laughs hysterically and hugs me over the table.

"Kylie, do we have to study today?" Jane asks. "I don't want to either. But, Hopper will murder me." I say apologetically.

"No, he won't. How is school?" She asks.

"School is amazing. Especially my friends. When I first met them, I was kind of awkward with them. But now, they are the best thing in my life! I wish you could come!!" I state with a pout.

"Me too. But, Dad is very protective of me. Because of my powers..." She says covering her mouth and regretting it at once.

I am beyond shocked. "Powers? What powers??" I ask her.

She looks at me as if she's about to cry. "Hey, if you aren't comfortable telling me. You don't have to. Tell me when you feel the time is right. But whatever power you have.....that is so COOL!" I squeal.

She smiles at me and slowly her smile fades away. "Hey, what happened?"

"Kylie, will you stop being my friend because I have powers?" She asks with a shaky voice. This girl....

"No Jane. I won't. If it's anything, your powers make you a thousand times cooler than anyone on this planet! I am so happy that I have a friend with superpowers!" I say trying to get her to smile again.

And, mission accomplished. She gave me a cheeky smile.

"Come on. Let's go outside into the woods." I say pulling her by her arm.

"No Kylie. What if someone sees us?" She asks worried.

"No one will. Besides, we are pretty deep inside the woods. We will just go 500 meters from your house. To that tree. Okay?" I say while pointing out to the tall silver oak tree.

"Okay." She says and puts on her sneakers.

▫ Eleven ▫

I can't believe I told her. Eleven what's wrong with you? It was supposed to be a secret. Atleast she doesn't think I'm a freak. She thinks I'm 'cool'. I like cool. I'm cool. She's happy to have a friend with superpowers. She doesn't even know my power. But, well.

We were now outside the house walking over to a huge tree. She jumps around like a little girl and starts climbing the tree.

"Kylie, are you sure this is safe?" I ask.

"Yeah. The view will be amazing. Come on. Wait, let me help you up." She says while coming back down.

She punts her hands together to make a little step for me. I put my foot onto it and climb on to the first branch.

"Jane, you want to be careful while climbing up. Okay?"

I hmm in response.

So far, so good.

I climb high enough that now I have to shout at Kylie if I have to say anything to her. She quickly climbs where I am and sits down huffing.

"Phew, it's pretty high." She says smiling.

"Thank you Kylie." She gives me a weird smile and asks almost as if she was doubting herself, "Sure...why?"

"For not leaving me and thinking I was a freak." I say. She smiles back. "And, please don't tell my powers thing to anybody." I say in the end.

"Sure. I won't."

"Promise?"

"Promise." She says finally.

We talked a lot about ourselves. Mostly about her. I didn't want to open up completely about being raised in a lab. Then, she'd truly think I was a freak.  She also told me about how she liked Will. I still haven't told her about Mike. I don't know if I should cause, if I do I'll have to explain all about the upside down.

"So, I guess we got to go. Hopper is going to come back any moment now." She says. I nod in response.

She lets me get off first and once I have landed my feet on the ground, she starts making her way down.

And in the blink of an eye, her leg slips and she is now falling.

I think fast and use my powers. I make her levitate. She looks shocked.

So much to keep it a secret.
