POV | Third Person
It had been a week since the two had been missing. Hopper was running around Hawkins like lost dog. He went to the lab several times, only to find it empty. It had been cleaned after the incident last year. Several bottles of bleach were used to clean up the mess, which in turn made the lab smell like a hospital.
Michael and Will weren't doing too well either. Will was worried sick. He couldn't understand what was happening and who took Kylie. What had happened to her house and her stuff. The only person that ever mattered to him anymore was gone.
Michael wasn't doing too well. He was used to not being with El all the time. But, when she was with Hopper he was assured of her safety. He kept talking into the walkie-talkie hoping for her to respond. Hoping for a sign. For all that was left for the four boys and one red-headed girl, was Hope.
Max wasn't interested in anything else. She lost her only good friend. Kylie was the only one who understood her. She was the only one who was just like Max. The both of them loved playing video games, especially Dig Dug. That's how they bonded and got so close. Max wasnt like her friends. She didn't like academics. But because she missed her only Girlfriend so much, she sat down on her desk and did math. She didn't eat anymore. She was just, lifeless. Looking at her this way, Lucas wasn't doing too well. He couldn't see her this way and often broke down because of it. It was pretty ironical of Lucas to be sensitive kind under his brave exterior.
The five kids would spend nights together talking about the two and how much they missed them. The talk would usually end up with Max and Will crying into Lucas's and Dustin's arms respectively.
Mike just sat there. He didn't cry. He was, lost. He couldn't believe it that El, was gone again. But, sometimes a tiny tear drop would trail his face. He would quickly wipe it away hoping that no one would notice his vulnerability. But, people would. All of them did as a matter of fact. They just didn't say anything. All of them were sad, some were scared to show how much.
"Max! Where are you?" Billy called out while entering the house. Max closed her journal in time before Billy looked at it. "Billy, what do you want?" She asked sighing. The feud between them was over. After the incident from last year, Billy was truly scared of Max. He also understood that he shouldn't act like a bitch all the time.
They bonded mainly over Metallica. Max never knew how much she would grow to love rock music. All that aside, they tried to be good siblings to eachother. For their parents. Billy wasn't all that bad under his 'bad boy' exterior.
He was actually very understanding and very protective. Only about Max of course. They shared everything with eachother. It truly was funny how their relationship escalated from hatred to love. Of course they still fought and Billy still called her "Little shit" but, what was important was that Billy was changing. And changing for good.
"If you were 18 and really liked Tom Cruise, what would you want for your birthday?" Billy asked Max while plopping down on her bed.
"Umm..a poster probably?" Max answered. "That's too common." Billy stated.
"Whose the girl?" Max asks her brother. "Carolyn. She's my chemistry lab partner. Her birthday is this weekend and I want to do something for her." He says. Max looks at him wide eyed. Billy was not the kind of guy who would actually buy someone something.
"Carolyn? You mean the.....nerd?" Max retorts. His eyes grow dark the second Max called Carolyn a nerd. He quickly calms down not wanting to go off on Max.
"She's not a nerd. I'm the only one allowed to call her a nerd. She's really cool." He says.
"Okay, sorry. You could probably take her out for the Tom Cruise movie playing at Hawk and then later but her dinner at the pizza place around the corner." Max suggests bringing Billy to deep thought."That sound great!" He exclaims leaving her alone in her room. She goes back to writing her journal.

"Guys, keep quiet." Dustin instructed Lucas and Will. Lucas was about to protest but, Dustin just pointed at Mike, who was sitting inside the infamous fort with the walkie-talkie in hand. He kept speaking into the device hoping to hear something, anything from the void.
The three looked at him and then at eachother. "He sure misses El." Dustin remarks. Mike wasn't the only one missing someone eternally. Will was dying piece by piece because of Kylie. He longed to see her, her smile that lit up his world, how her eyes sparkled when she spoke about something she liked and the list went on and on and on.
Will hadn't told the guys about Kylie yet. He waited for the right time. A time when the world wasn't ending.
"Who ever knew that those two girls would make such a big impact on our lives." Dustin said making Michael's head shoot up.
He looked at the 3 sets of horrified eyes looking at him. "Oh My God. Oh My God." Dustin said pacing around the room.
"Holy Shit." Lucas remarked and Will sat there, shocked as hell.
"Will you stop pacing!" Michael demanded. "Do you guys think El knew?" Lucas asked sitting next to a huffing Dustin.
"I guess. I mean she did act pretty weird the day she told me about what had happened to Kylie." Mike told them. All of them were in deep thought before Lucas rose from his place on the floor.
"I'm pretty sure Kylie would have told Max right? Let me go ask her. I'll tell you all about it later on the walkie-talkie. Okay Mike?" Lucas says making his way out of the basement door.
The cold October wind hits his cheek. He shudders his way over to his bike and sees Max making her way over to him. "Max? I was just coming over to your house." Lucas says looking at the redhead coming towards him.
"Hey Stalker." She says with a smile. It had been a long time since she had smiled. Her lit up face made Lucas's face have a blood rush.
"Lucas, are you blushing?" She asks nudging him. "It's been a while since you smiled." He replied. This made her smile even wider and she hugged Lucas.
"I missed you." She said. He sighed in response. "Me too." He said.
They pulled apart and Lucas asked her about Kylie.
Max's expression grew cold.
