POV | Eleven

She is Ten? As in she has powers? She was in the lab too??? My questions were growing as each second passed.

"Yes, I have powers. Yes, I was in the lab. See, I'm sorry. But, I just wanted to tell you. 'Cause we have powers and we are special, not weird. It is nice to have someone who is just like me." She says with a shaky voice.

I draw her into a hug and she slowly weeps into my shoulder. "So, Kylie what powers do you have?" I ask as she pulls away rubbing her eyes and sniffling.

"I can read minds for starters and," she stops. She looks at me and suddenly her body disintegrates and forms a person. Mike.

"I can shapeshift." She says smiling. Or is it he? I don't know. Atleast this way I can see Mike, but his voice is kinda shrill. She comes back to Kylie. "And, I can turn invisible." She says before disappearing from my vision.

I can feel her tickling my neck. I giggle in response trying to get hold of her. She comes visible again. "Cool huh?" She says wiping away the blood from her nose.

"So, how did you escape the bad men?" I.ask her. She looks at the wall and back at me as if she were trying to recollect the memory.

"Well, my Mom told me this." She starts off. "My mother is One, she is telekinetic just like you. In addition to that, she has the power of invisibility. When she was at the lab, she met a guy, Two. They fell in love and escaped the lab once they turned 18. My dad didn't have an education so, he didn't get a job. He couldn't support my mother. That's why, he joined the Lab. My mother was not okay with this and was also pregnant with me. She was scared that my Dad, who was now working for the Lab would take me away once I was born because I would inherit their powers and they did. That's where I became Ten. My mother broke in one night and took me away to Huston.  Last year, we read in the papers that the Lab was shut down. So, we moved back." She ended.

Wow.

"What powers did you father have?" I ask her. "Shapeshifting and reading minds." She answers. "Did you always know you had powers?" I ask. "No, one day I was sitting in my room and was thinking of one of my friends. Suddenly, I noticed that the air around me was filled with disintegrated specs of my body. I freaked out. In about thirty seconds, all the specs came together and I saw my friend in front of the mirror. I ran out and told my mother. She was shocked and explained the entire story to me. She also told me how to come back to my original self. I got to know about the invisibility and mind reading eventually. I tried telekenesis, but I don't have it." She stated with a sigh.

"So, you are my sister?" I asked. She thought about it for a while and said, "I think we are! Isn't that amazing?! Wow, I have a sister!!" She screamed with joy. The door knob started moving and I looked at Kylie. She just smiled and disappeared.

"El, who are you talking to? I thought you were sleepy." Dad asks me entering the room.

"I am not getting sleep so I am just sitting on the bed and talking to...myself." I say the last word doubtfully. He gives me a weird look and leaves. As soon as he leaves, Kylie comes back. "Phew. I'm drained." She says with droopy eyes and with insanely bleeding nose and ears.

I go over to my dresser and give her a box of napkins she thanks me and wipes her nose and ears. "But I don't understand. If you were never in the lab for so long, how are your powers so strong? Because mine aren't that strong." I question.

"My parents have really strong powers as they kept practising with them for 25 years. So I think it's hereditary." She states.

She looks at the clock and terror passes her face. "Jane, it was a great time. I have to go. It's ten p.m. I'll see you on Monday. Bye." She says exiting the window. Be careful.

"Don't worry, I will." She says back taking her bike out of the bushes.

"Bye Jane!"

Bye.

And who knew, that would be the last time I'll ever say bye to her.
