Chapiter 05

Chapiter 05 :

The day the followed wasn’t very bright, my parents were arguing more than ever , and as I understood from their screaming dad lost his beloved job and it absolutely devastated him which made him gamble and drink a lot , my mum was trying to fix things as much a she could she didn’t even tell me so that I wouldn’t worry  but she started to get tired because my father wasn’t even bothering to find another job or anything he’s just making it worst ,the debts are starting to accumulate it was all getting  really bad and I didn’t know what to do , I was shocked and confused I mean I didn’t even get those informations in a normal conversation with my mum . The screams were getting louder, my father was drunk and suddenly I heard my mum letting out a small scream after what It sounded like a hand crashing on her skin , did he just ? no , he wouldn’t ,I ran downstairs as my father had just slammed the door and went out, my mum was there, in the living room, sitting on the couch, covering her face with her hands and crying. I sat right next to her and kept staring at her with watery eyes that finally let out a tear , then another , and another , My mum took her hands off her face and looked at me then smiled even though she was crying , she held my hand and said “ Lindsay it will be fine I promise” , I noticed one of  her cheeks was red more than the other “Mum did he….” “ What  are you talking about ?” she says while she turns her face away and whip the tears of her eyes “Mum he hit you ??!!” “no ….he’s just …” she took a deep breath then looked straight into my eyes “ Listen sweetie we’re having some problems at the moment but we’re going to make it don’t worry “I really didn’t get why she was acting like I was 5 years old “Mum I’m not a baby anymore I know what’s going on and I’m not gonna let you get through this alone alright  , I’m gonna find a job and do all what I can to help you “ her eyes filled up with tears again as she hugged me “ are you sure you want to do this ?” I wrap my arms around her tightly  “of course mum you can always count on me” “ I’m so proud of you Lindsay and I’m sorry , you’re grown now I just can’t accept it you’re my baby girl” “ aww mum stop making us cry even more “.

After this whole scene I got out of the house and started to do what I promised my mum , my goal now is to find a job.  I walked around a few streets and looked if there was any possibility for a job , but there wasn’t anything interesting , my phone suddenly rang it was Calum “ hey” “Oh hi Linds you wouldn’t believe what is happened” he said in a joyful and very excited tone , I didn’t want to show him that I was not okay so I just let out a cold “ oh really what is it ?” “Come over to our rehearsing place and I’ll tell ya , bye” “Calum I’m not sure-“ he hung up . Guess I had no choice then I went to the place Calum told me to come, I barely got there he and the other boys were already in front of me “ hey guys” ….. “Hum Linds are you okay ?you look so pale ” said Calum “ oh hum yeah I’m good just a little tired, so what’s up with you guys ?” “get ready Linds” said Michael , Ashton started to tap on the wall with his drumsticks “ We are gonna be playing in one of Sydney’s biggest Arenas !!!!” said Calum , my mouth dropped on the floor how can my crazy idiot friends get such an important show “ whaaaaat oh my gosh I’m so happy for you “ I said while drawing the biggest smile even though it was really hard to pull it up“ but how  ?” “Some producer saw us at the gig” said Luke “ and apparently he “ instantly” saw that we had potential and that we had a lot to give, so he said we’ll be the opening of some really big show for one direction ” said Ashton shortly after  “One Direction ? oh my gosh this is amazing guys I’m very proud of you , gimme a hug” I said while all of the boys came to hug me at once “ Not like that you’re crashing me guys !!” .

I sat with the boys for a little while then got up “ alright boys I’ve got to go , keep working hard for the performance alright ?” “where are you going Linds?” asked Calum “I got a lot of stuff to do –“ “do you need help” “No, Cal I guess I’ll be fine bye guys” “Wait Linds I insist really let me come with you” I sighed and said “ okay Cal come but are you sure you don’t want to stay with the boys and finish the practice ?” “It’s not really a practice we were just hanging out then we ended up here” Ashton tapped Cal on his shoulder “ oh hey go easy on the whole blushing thing bro” Calum instantly looked at ash and pushed him away” haha what’s wrong Calum ? ya shy ?” said Michael while the of the boys started laughing “ what the heck is wrong with you I don’t know what you are talking about “ said Calum while blushing more than ever “ You should have told us you too were going on a date “ said Luke as he and the rest of the boys kept laughing , I guess Cal and I couldn’t get more red , “ c’mon we’re just joking you too stop making a big deal of this “ said Michael as he playfully pushed Calum “It’s fine guys , I mean it’s not like it’s gonna happen right Cal ?” , I felt him freezing and all the red in his face turned into yellow no white , he looked at me in shock without saying a word before breaking that cold with a very small “ yeah” , I know I should have not said that but I really wanted to see his reaction to being friend-zoned like it happened to me , “Alright Cal let’s go” he nodded as we walked away.

Calum was definitely not okay, the expression on his face said it all, and could it be related to what I said? Does that mean that actually does like me?? “ Calum what’s wrong ? Hey cheer up, I don’t get it why are you so upset with that amazing performance coming it could be a great career starter “ “yeah probably I’m just  worried … Linds what’s going on ?” “What?” “What’s going on, I can clearly see that you’re not fine ““Oh.…it …… it’s  My parents Cal” “what’s with them?” “Things are getting very crappy, please don’t tell anyone what I’am about tell you” “ of course” “My dad… lost his job ….. and you know how much he loved it ….. and now he’s just” I said while my voice gets weaker and I try to hold back my tears” he’s depressed he gambles and drinks a lot and now he and my mum fight a lot , he even hit her Calum” I said while literally exploding in tears , he puts both of his hands on my cheeks and gets my head closer to his chest “ shh it’s fine I’m here for you” “it’s awefull Cal I swear I’m sick of them screaming all the time “ “don’t worry it’s gonna be okay” , his arms around me made me feel so protected and good , a little while after I stopped crying I took a deep breath , Calum even whipped my tears “better ?” “ kind of …. I need to find a job” “ Oh well I heard Mister Spencer’s restaurent needs a waitress , it’s a good start “ “ yes totally let’s go” , we directly headed there and thank god the job was still not taken yet , we had a little chat with the boss and he didn’t seem to care of my “ professional career” as long as I can clean tables , take orders and be nice to the customers “ You’ll start tomorrow at 08am , you got a break and resume at 1:30 , you’ll finish your day at 8:30pm can I count on you Lindsay” “Yes sir totally” “ alright I like your energy see you tomorrow then” “ alright thank you sir” “ no thank You you probably just saved the restaurent” , I went back to Calum and rushed into his arms “ I got the job calum” “ haha I knew you would make it” “thank you Calum you’re amazing “ “Don’t need to thank me we’re friends I’m so excited to see you in your uniform I’m sure you’re gonna do terrible haha “ I tapped his shoulder “’I’m gonna rock this thing alright and If you ever come here I won’t take you order “ I say as I turn my back “ Well you wouldn’t get tips haha” I turned back to face him “ well I guess I’ll be fine without them haha” .

 

It was already the evening, and the time to come back home, Cal and I hit the road together as he kept teasing me about the job.
