Skate Park

I'm actually pretty good at skateboarding so I'm not very nervous. The only nerve racking thing is talking to Declan. I took out my skateboard from the garage and headed to the skatepark.

I kept my eyes pealed for Declan. I scanned the park and I saw him at one of the ramps. I placed my skateboard down and hopped on riding it over to him. "Well, well, well who do we have here?" He asked. The best part about him other than every other perfect thing, he's British and he still has the accent. "Vera Lewis" I stated simply. "You new around here love?"
"No, I've been here for all my life."
"I think I'd remember that face. How come I haven't seen you around school?"
"I'm homeschooled"
"Ah, well why is a pretty girl like you at a skatepark?"
"I'm here to challenge you Declan Carter."
"How do you know my name?"
"How could anyone not?"
He shrugged and accepted my challenge "let's go then, you first love."

I decided on a rodeo 9. Tough but not impossible. I've been practicing, hopefully it will work for me this time. Please don't mess up Vera!

I gained momentum and went for it.

I landed with a bit of a stumble but in the end Declan was impressed and that's what I was going for. He clapped "woah, that was pretty awesome!" I smirked "tell me something I don't know" I joked but he looked confused. "I'm kidding, I'm not cocky really!" I assured him. "So Vera, where do you live?" I decided to tell him my address but I didn't make it seem like I knew where he lived. "No way! That's where I live, your house is right next to mine" Declan exclaimed. "That's quite the coincidence!" No it's not you creep, you look out your window to him everyday practically. "Yeah, maybe we could introduce our parents to each other!" he offered. "Oh I live with my sisters. My parents travel a lot." "That's cool too, why don't I come over and meet them, I feel like we could really hit it off you know?" "Definitely" oh, no. NO Vera what are you doing! Stop, your sisters will embarrass you! "Sweet, skate there?" "Sure."

We made it to my house. "Yeah that's my house right there, wow? How have I never noticed that a beautiful neighbor is right next door to me?" I blushed but hid it by by looking down at the ground having my hair cover my face. I pushed the door open. "Oh look Vera's back! Did you try to talk to-" Jenna paused her jaw dropping "Declan" she breathed. "Hey, do I know you?"
"No, but Sunny does!" "Sunny...? She's your sister Vera?" "Yep" I answered.

Right as we mentioned her she walk downstairs, "Declan?" she questioned. She turned to me and raised her eyebrows. "Hey squirt, I didn't know you had such a fun sister!" He ruffled Sunny's hair "Yeah, wait, when did you talk with Vera?" "Just today SunDay, you weren't at school today, why?" "I overslept, a lot. I'm ahead in all my classes so it really didn't matter." She answered "anyway, you already know my name, what's yours?" Declan asked turning his attention to Jenna "I'm Jenna, Sunny and Vera's half-sister." "How come you never told me about your sister Jenna squirt?"
"It never came up in conversation"
"Anyway, Declan, you hungry?"
"Always!"
"Cool let's go to Sonic." I looked over to Jen and Sunny giving them the 'seriously!' look. Declan and I walked over to his house and opened the passenger car door to let me hop inside. We both strapped in and headed out.

When we arrived at Sonic we both ordered a burger with fries, Declan took a chocolate and caramel shake, I took mint. "So Declan tell me about yourself" I began. "Well, I have a little sister who is four. Her name is Malory, she was born here but I was born in Maven England and raised there for most of my life. Also, I'm seventeen, what about you?" he asked me. "Well, I've lived here in Colorado for my whole life. My parents travel for their jobs so I never really see them. I'm sixteen and I have two siblings whom you've already met" I answered.

Once Declan payed the bill after we finished eating he suggested "you should come over to my house, today" I laughed, "How about you take me home then go up to your bedroom window and look out of it." He furrowed his brows "just trust me. Okay?" He nodded and we headed back to our houses. I rushed upstairs to my bedroom window and opened it up. Declan opened his bedroom door and smiled. "Oh, hey sweetheart, wasn't expecting you to be here!" I laughed and he jumped onto the chair that looked out the window.

"Why do you even keep your window open? Intruders could come in" "or pretty neighbors" he added "okay creep!" I laughed "maybe we could do that telephone thing with tin cans and a string!" He beamed. "Yeah or we could just talk to each other on the phone late at night like normal people." I offered.

"Believe me, I would but I don't have your number" yes! I was hoping he was going to say that! I lightly bit the inside of my cheek to keep myself from screaming. "562-342-1657" I told him. He called it "hello neighbor!" I rolled my eyes at the window "hey there" I hung up and stuck my head out the window again. "Oh, Vera this is going to be so much fun! I see a beautiful friendship blossoming already" he winked at me. "Me too Declan."
