The plane eventually landed and I could feel the wheels hit the runway. I was half asleep as we reached the ground. Declan tapped my arm lightly.

I didn't wake up, I didn't want to.

He kissed my forehead and whispered my name in my ear. I woke up, at last. "We landed," he informed me. "I thought I felt us reach the ground," I answered.

We gathered up our carry-on items and walked off the plane, over to baggage claim. Our bags came fairly quickly. As we wheeled them over to the curb just outside of the airport, we hopped on a double decker bus to get to the hotel. After a couple of tries, one stopped and offered us a ride to our hotel.

We both arrived at the hotel and gathered our belongings from the trunk of the car. Declan held the hotel lobby door open for me as I walked in. He stepped ahead of me as we both got to the front desk.

"Declan Carter," he told the front desk clerk. "Mr. Carter, you're going to be in room four hundred and twelve. Here are two keycards and inside the pack is the WiFi password. Enjoy," She finished. Declan thanked her as he took the keycards and my hand in his as well. We pushed the level four button and the elevator, oh, sorry, the "lift" took us up.

We walked in and there were two king sized beds in a ginormous room. "What is this?" I wondered. "The room? It's nothing, I just thought you should be as comfortable as you could be," he answered. "You don't need to spoil me like this you know. I couldn't care less if we were in a crappy motel. I'll have you and that's all I want," I told him truthfully. "Well, suffer, because I'm not changing the room or hotel," he laughed.

I jumped on my bed and laid down turning on my phone to see two missed calls from Jenna and twelve messages from Sunny.

Worried. I don't blame them.

"Hey, darling, I'm going to call Jen, okay?" I told him. "Sure, love, I'll stay quiet," he answered putting his index finger to his lips. I dialed her number and she immediately answered. "Hey, sweetie, how's England so far? Did you land? Are you safe?" She babbled. "Well, we just got to the hotel, seeing how amazing it is, I'd say England is very nice-" she cut me off saying, "you better send pictures then!"

I laughed, "I will, I'm safe trust me. Declan's with me, he'd never let anything bad happen to me," I finished. "He better not! Sunny and I miss you. Oh! The doctor called, they want to see you. I told them that wasn't a possibility because you're in England. They said they are still monitoring some of your DNA and blood cells and are trying to test different cures that might work. Just trying to keep you posted. Have fun, we love you and miss you. Mwah!" Jen said.

"That's great! I love you guys too! Mwah," I ended the call. I turned to Declan and smiled. He laughed, "you're awfully happy!" I nodded, patting the spot on my bed next to me. He walked over and sat down. "The doctors are trying to find cures that might work!" I smiled. "That's great sweetheart!" He pulled me into a tight hug. I pulled us down onto the bed. He just held me playing with my hair.

After a long moment of silence, I asked, "what are we doing today exactly?" He sighed and we sat up. I still kept my head buried in his shoulder as he explained, "well, you're meeting my grandparents today and then tomorrow, you're meeting a couple of my closest cousins."

I nodded and as I asked the next question I had, my voice sounded muffled because I didn't want to take my head away from him. "What time will this be?" "In an hour or so. You have plenty of time. Don't worry, they'll love you," he added as if he was reading my mind. Are his cousins close to our age? Or are we talking forty seven year olds who are much wiser?

"My cousins are close to our age V, don't worry," he answered as if he was reading my thoughts. "Can you read my mind or something?" I wondered. "Something like that," he laughed. "Seriously, it's amazing, but it's terrifying. Oh what am I thinking about right now?" I asked taking my head away from his shoulder. He's never going to get this. "You think I'm never going to get what you're thinking," he answered. I stared at him in awe.

"What. The. Heck?!" I breathed. "We've just gotten to know each other, I can sense what you think and how you feel. Maybe even what you want," he concluded. "Try to see what I'm thinking love," he stated. "I can't!" I felt defeated. He grabbed my hands, looking into my eyes, he said, "just. Try."

I shook my head for a short while after actually trying to see what he was thinking. "I was thinking how cute you are when you're amazed by something." I smiled and I felt my ears and face get hot. He touched my cheek and grinned.

We took a little while to get ready but we took a double decker bus to go to Declan's grandparents house. There was a stop right before their neighborhood.

It was a short walk to their house.

Declan knocked on the door, interlocking our hands and plastering a smile on his face. I sighed and he planted a kiss on my temple. The door swing open. "Declan! Hello, dear, it's been too long!" Cried his grandma who had a very thick English accent. She turned her attention to me and smiled saying, "aren't you a beauty! Is Declan treating you kindly dear? Vera, am I correct?"

I smiled and answered, "yes ma'am, I'm Vera and he's treating me better than anything or anyone could!" She laughed, "oh, nonsense, call me Gram! George, get in here and come see the lovely lady Declan didn't stop talking about during his trip here last!" She called. I looked over to him and he was smiling, he caught my glance and he just shrugged.

Declan's grandpa came over to Gram and kissed her cheek. "Hello lovely lady! You're Vera? I can see that Declan really did pick a good one." "A great one," gram corrected. "Thank you sir!" I smiled. "Sir? Ha! I'm not that old, call me Pap," he declared. Gram and Pap invited us in and made us tea. We sat in their dining room, Declan placed his hand on my thigh as we sat down.

This is going to be a fun time, I don't really like tea.

Gram came out and poured us all a cup of tea. "So, sweetie, tell us about yourself. What are your hobbies, favorite school subject, siblings, family life, etcetera," Gram instructed. "Well, I love to sing and write. My favorite school subject is English, I have one older half sister, Jenna, who takes care of my younger sister Sunny and I. My parents aren't really around, they travel the world for a living. They spend time in houses, they house sit but my dad is also a dentist on the side," I finished and let out a little cough.

Great.

"Oh, sweetie, you've been talking so much! Drink some of your tea," Pap instructed me. I smiled and took the cup. I took a sip and swallowed reluctantly. I still placed a smile on my face, I didn't want them to make a fuss over a small thing such as me not likening the tea. "Declan hasn't stopped talking about you."

"I mean, you'd think he'd have more things to talk about, which I'm sure he does, but he always chooses to talk about you and how perfect and sweet you are. Now I can see he's right!" Pap exclaimed. "I'm happy Declan found someone who makes him that happy. You truly are something special," Gram grinned.

Gram and Pap made dinner for us and Declan offered to finish my tea as they were cooking because he knows how much I hated it. We all continued to discuss things and England's traditions because I had a couple of questions during dinner. We said our goodbyes and Declan and I headed back to our hotel.

I fell asleep immediately.
