KAITLYN POV

The next morning came. I woke up and dressed into my volleyball uniform. I went downstairs to grab some breakfast, and found Liam already down and ready to leave.

"Morning. You're looking good." Liam said.

"I'm sorry," I asked, thinking that I heard him wrong.

He rubbed the back of his head nervously, "I said are you ready for the game?"

"Oh. Uhhh- yeah." I opened the fridge. The dream I had last night kept Michael on my mind throughout the rest of the night. I suddenly wasn't hungry anymore as the images of the dream replayed in my head. Knowing I had to eat something, I took an apple from the bowl on the counter and sat down, biting into it.

Liam looked at me concerned, "Is that all you're going to eat?"

"Its all I need," I lied.

Anna came down and ate a bowl of ceral. We left after we brushed our teeth and arrived at the gym quickly. We did our warm ups and the game started.

Once we got about half way through the game, we lead 12-0. That's when things started to slow down for us; for me. Michael walked into the gym. He was alone, thank god. As if I wasn't nervous enough about the game, and light headed from not eating much this morning, seeing him took my breath away. And once again, my ability to breathe had decreased. I was too distracted by him in his metallica t-shirt and red flannel. His tight black jeans hugged his legs nicely and he wore his favorite pair of black converse. The ball came flying at me and hit the ground right by my feet. I quickly snapped out of my daze.

"Kaitlyn, what the hell?" Anna shouted.

"Sorry," I said, "it won't happen again." We scored on the next round, giving us the serve, and of course, it was my turn. I threw the ball in the air, then saw Michael staring at me. Right at me. When the ball came back down, it threw me off guard as I hit it straight into the net.

"Kaitlyn, really?" Anna said. I knelt down and put my hand on my head. The room was spinning. I knew I should have eaten more this morning. And the fact that Michael was at my volleyball game, looking at me, overwhelmed the shit out of me. And not in a good way. My chest felt tight and I couldn't breathe. My coach took note of it and put Janelle Karta, a tall dark skinned girl, in my place.I didn't even care that everyone was looking at me as I ran into the girls locker room. I heard Liam mumble something to the coach about finding me. Assuming he saw me run into the locker room, I decided to try and find the best hiding place possible. I settled on the back corner in the farthest shower; all the way in the back of the room behind all the lockers.

"Kaitlyn, where are you?" I heard Liam shout. I tried my best not make my breathing audible, which was easier because I wasn't breathing hardly. Liam searched the entire locker room and, unfortunately, he found me. He rushed to me as I brought my knees up to my chest and sobbed. He knelt down in front of me. "Hey, look at me," he said tilting my head up.  "Take deep breaths"

I did what he said and wiped the tears away. Liam helped me to my feet and pulled me into his arms. I burried my face into his shirt. There was something about being in his embrace... I felt safe. I felt protected.

I quickly realized that I was hugging my best friend's brother, and pulled myself away from him. "he has that much of an affect on you, doesn't he?"

"you have no idea," I muttered.

"You will get over him. It will take time, but you will forget the day you met that asshole."

"Says the guy who has never been in a relationship."
