Chapter Fifteen

KAITLYN POV

Two days passed and Anna had stayed with me the entire time. I woke to find Anna gone already, but I guess I was okay with that. I felt like being alone. I was drinking whatever liquor I could find so I was thankful I didn't vomit this morning. I just had a raging head ache that no amount of aspirin would kill. I walked down stairs and got some water. When I got back to my room, my phone was ringing. It was Zayn. He had been calling me all night. I finally asnwered, "Will you stop calling me? I don't want to talk to you!"

"Kaitlyn, open the door." he said. Not in the mood to argue, I went back down stairs and let him in. "Don't talk, just listen."

"Excuse me?"

"Nothing happened, Kaitlyn."

"Yeah, because thats why there was a girl straddling Liam and you were sweet talking another."

"If you would just let me explain."

"You have two minutes."

"Okay, so that Harry guy, he's a bad dude. Liam and I never should have gotten involved with him, but it happened. Next thing we knew we were dealing drugs for him. We paid him back all the money, but he still found ways to manipulate us. Liam gave in last night because Harry practically threatened your safety. He knew who you were and he knew it would destroy Liam if something happened to you. When Liam got to the club, I was already there. It was mid morning and Liam and I made a pact to leave as soon as we got the chance, but that bastard Styles wouldn't leave us for a single minute and we knew that if we left and he saw us, things would have gotten even more ugly than they already were."

"Why was Liam letting that girl touch him then."

"It was an act! All of it was an act. I saw the pain in his face while she was touching him."

"Zayn..."

"Kaitlyn, you are like family to me. And if I didn't care, would I be here right now?"

I stayed silent.

"When have I ever lied to you, Kaitlyn?"

"So Liam didn't cheat on me?"

"No, he did not. He would never want to either. He loves you too much to put you through that."

My heart skipped a beat at Zayns last sentence. "Liam... loves me?"

"Yes. And I know you love him too, so please, talk to him. The poor boy is a mess without you."

"Fine. I'll talk to him."

I showered for the first time in two days and drove myself over to Liam's house. Anna met me out front. "Does he know I was coming?"

"No. I didn't say anything."

"Have you really talked to him since it happened?"

"He did most of the talking. I just listened."

"Do you believe him?"

"Yeah. I do," she sighed.

"I feel horrible. But I have every right to have reacted the way I did right? We both do."

"Of course. And he still lied to you, so don't let that one go so easily."

"I won't."

"I'll go get him." Anna walked back in her house and in her place appeared the tall, toned, beautiful man that I was in love with.

"Kaitlyn?" he rushed towards me and tried to embrace me in a hug, but I backed away.

"Let's go for a walk," I said and headed off in the direction towards the park near his house.

It was silent for a while. It was a little awkward, but I ignored it. I just tried my best to let fresh summer air sooth me. We stopped in front of the pond and Liam spoke first. "I am so sorry, Kaitlyn."

"Yeah. I am too," I responded in a tone that meant I was sorry that what happened happened. Not that I was sorry for it.

"Look, I didn't want to go, but I had to. That guy is bad news and he threatened your life. I don't know how the hell he figured out who you were, but he said something about the lake house, so I assume he stalked me. I didn't want to risk anything happening to you. I couldn't live my life without you. I get this feeling... a feeling like no other. Its like you were made for me. Its like you and I were put here on this planet for this specific reason. We were meant to be together, Kaitlyn. I understand if you don't forgive me, but I'm begging for another chance. I promise you that nothing happened with that girl. She was only sitting on me. Nothing else happened. I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that I cheated on you. I know how I would feel if you did it to me." he paused. "I love you, Kaitlyn."

I looked up at him, tears threatening to spill, "I love you too, but that doesn't change the fact that you still lied to me."

"I told you that there were things that you shouldn't know."

"Like the fact that you used to deal drugs? I mean, I know you had a bad boy rep, but I thought you smarter than that, Liam."

"I only dealed them. I never did any of them. The most I've done is smoke marijuana and I know you have done that at least once in your life too." He was right. I had. It was more of an experiment at the time though. "I'm done with Styles. I'm done falling for his mind games. You are too important for me to just let something happen to you. If you had stayed longer in that room, I'm sure he would have made is way with you in about ten minutes." I shuddered at his words. "Kaitlyn, please."

"I'm willing to put this behind me if you promise to never lie to me again."

"I promise that I will never lie to you again."

"Good." I turned back and watched the ducks swimming in the pond. Then Liam spun me towards him and landed his lips on mine. He kissed me with such passion, I felt the world around us dissolve into nothing, leaving the two of us the only ones standing in what seemed like a peaceful world. I felt that firey sensation that I always felt when I kissed him and I knew that if I got that feeling everytime he kissed me, the fire that was our love would burn on forever.

He pulled away, resting his forehead on mine and I saw the world materialize back into its normal state. Then Liam said, "Did you say you love me too?"

"Yes I did," I said smiling.

"Yes!" he shouted then started jumping around in circles.

I laughed, and it was a good laugh. One that just made you feel happy about everything. "You are such a child, Liam."

"I don't care! I'm just so happy!"

"Oh shut up and kiss me," I said grabbing his shirt and pulling him down to place my lips on his.

Somehow everything worked out when I thought it never would be okay again.
