KAITLYN POV

After I put the fish in the freezer and put the fishing equipment away, I went up to my room and looked through my clothes. We were up north so it would get colder as night fell.

I found a pair of my dark blue jeggings and layed them out on the bed. Now for a shirt. I hadn't intended to pack any of my cute and nice clothes, but me being me, I ended up finding nice clothes everywhere. I decided on my blue Brandy Melville crop top, a red and black flannel, and my black Aldo booties. Yes. I know. I packed my entire wardrobe. Boots aren't that big of a deal for me to walk in unless Liam makes me go weak in the knees. Then I am going to have a problem.

My phone vibrated on the dresser. Liam had texted me.

Liam: so meet me at 8?

Kaitlyn: of course!

Liam: perfect. I will see you soon. xx

Kaitlyn: :)

Why he hadn't just come up to my room and ask me, I didn't know. My guess was because he didn't want Zayn getting suspicious. I knew that that Zayn would be the first one to tease him about this.

I looked at the time. It was seven o'clock. I put my outfit on and let my hair down. I brushed out the tangles and let it fall naturally. I sat down in the cushioned seat by the window. I pulled out my sketchbook and continued the drawing that I had started. It was a bleeding heart with a dagger in it. I know that's depressing, but I started this sketch a couple weeks after Michael and I broke up. I worked on it a little bit everyday. It was almost finished. Just needed some shading done.

Anna walked in and sat across from me, "I saw you fishing earlier. You miss don't you?"

"Yeah, I do."

"You know you can always come during the summer. I mean, there's still practice but its not as bog of a priority."

"I know, but its not so much that I miss fishing as much as..." I trailed off.

"You miss doing it with your dad." Anna understands me better than anybody else does. Thats why we are best friends. "Have you talked to them lately?" She was referring to my parents. I looked over her features. Her curled blonde hair, her green eyes. Anna did not look like she was related to Liam at all. She had her mother's eyes and dyed her hair blonde, while Liam looked much like their father. Anna was lacking the british accent that the rest of her family had, but that was because she had been born here in Montana when her family moved here a year after Liam turned three. "Kay?" Anna said my nickname  she'd been calling me since the day we met.

"Sorry. No, I haven't. They haven't been home. And I tried calling, but they always tell me they're too busy and that they will talk to me later, but later never comes."

"And you haven't told Erin?"

"No. I don't want to ruin her summer. She's deserved this trip. The last thing I want to do is put it a damper on by telling her."

"I understand that, but if things don't get better soon, you will have to tell her."

"Yeah, I know. I just hope it doesn't come down to that," I paused. "your roots are coming in."

"Yeah. I was going to go get that fixed after the trip." She played with her hair. "I saw you with Liam out there."

"Yeah... I was going to try and keep distant; to see what happens, but that didn't work out that well," I laughed lightly. "He's the one approaching me."

"I know. That was one of the reasons I took the front seat when Zayn started driving. Well that, and Zayn was driving." she laughed lightly, as did I. "Liam told me about the kiss."
