KAITLYN POV
Finally. It was the last day of school. After today, Anna and I will officially be seniors. I was happy and excited. Not only was it summer vacation, but this summer marked the beginning of the end of highschool. I couldn't wait until I was out of that hellhole.
The last bell rang and all the freshman screamed. I covered my ears and found Anna at her locker. She slammed shut the hollow compartment. "i don't remember being that annoying when we were freshman," she said and looked at a small boy walking down the hall, "or that short..."
I laughed, "The freshmanbare getting ditzier and shorter every year. And what's up with the stupid girls squealing when they see their friends?"
"I know right?! Like, shut the fuck up. You saw your friend yesterday. "
"God. I'm so glad we're not like that."
"Me too," Anna said as we started walking out the front doors. There was a big crowd of people standing around the front of the school saying their goodbyes and getting their yearbooks signed. Anna and I climbed onto the planters to get a better view and find Liam's car. I had my car with me, but I always made sure that Anna got to her's safely before going to mine. "So are you ready for tomorrow?"
I had almsot forgot. Their family trip is tomorrow. My family was invited, but with Erin gone and my parents arguing constantly, I was the only one going. "yeah. I just have to gather a few last minute things," I paused. "hey. Anna. I haven't seen my parents since thursday. Well together at least. They can't even be in the same room as each other anymore. I think thats the reason they are never home. I'm really worried that they might get a divorce."
"Just give it some time. I'm sure they will work it out."
I sighed and scanned the parking lot. My eyes found Michael. "he's fucking everywhere," I said.
"i know I told you to forget him, but I'm starting to understand how you feel. Its hard to forget someone who never leaves."
"Wait... what the? Is he waving at me?" Michael had his hand in the air. He was looking in my direction. He started towards me, "oh my god. Is he coming over here?"
"Uhhh... I think so."
"Shit. Act natural." I tapped my foot lightly and whistled while Michael found his way next to me.
"Hey, Kaitlyn." He said.
"Michael," I said coldly.
"Can we talk? Alone?"
"If you do, it better be where I can see you," Anna warned.
Michael pulled me aside where we could be seen, but not heard.
"What do you want, Michael?"
"I wanted to apologize."
"Oh my. Is Michael Pearson actually admitting he did something wrong?" i said sarcastically. The entire time that he and I were dating, he was never able to admit when he was wrong. He always had to be right. Even when he knew he was wrong.
"Yes. I am. Look, I looked back on what I did and finally realized it was terrible thing to do. I saw how it affected you... I feel horrible. I should have told you as soon as I knew that things weren't going in the direction I thought they were. But then you decided to give it to me... and the fact that you trusted me enough to give it up to me... I didn't want to disappoint you. And then I met Leila at the club... and I just... I'm sorry, Kaitlyn. I was drunk and I didn't know what I was doing. And I know thats no excuse, but... I'm so sorry. I'm not asking you to take me back, I'm just letting you know how much I regret what I did. I know you heard what Liam said, and he was right. You are a beautiful that I lost. I hope we could still be friends?"
