KAITLYN POV

I decided on not changing my outfit completely. I only changed my top, putting on a yellow tank that had the word 'dream' written across it. I took off my white vans and put on the hiking boots I knew I was going need.

I walked downstairs and sat next to Zayn who was dressed and ready to go.

"Where were you this morning?" I asked.

Zayn looked at me confused, "I went out for a run."

"Yeah, because Zayn Garcia would miss the oppertunity to sleep in." He looked away from me. "I know, Zayn."

"Look, I swear we didn't do anything. We just talked until we fell asleep."

"Oh, I don't have a problem with it. Just don't let Liam find out."

"I can try, but I hate keep things from him."

"I know what you mean, but you've been in a real relationship before... I've seen the way you treat a lady. If Liam wants anyone to date Anna, it should be you."

"Thanks, Kaitlyn."

"But just know I'll end you if you do anything to hurt her."

"Noted," he said putting his hands up in surrender.

"And to be honest, Liam not having been in a real relationship makes me a bit nervous..." I told Zayn a lot, believe it or not. When there was no one around, he was someone I'd turn to. And he being Liam's best friend, who better to talk to about this with? "I mean, what if he can't give it up? Running around, I mean. What if he cheats on me like Michael did? I can't handle that again. Not this soon."

"Kaitlyn, he showed you the tree house. He's never even showed it to me. I don't think you have anything to worry about."

"Thanks, Zayn," I smiled.

Anna came down and went into the kitchen to get a bottle of water. Liam came down about five minutes after Anna and we headed to the car. Anna told me to sit in the front with Liam. I did and the entire drive to the trailhead, Liam held my hand. All the gestures he was making are ones that Michael used to do when we were dating. But there was a different feeling when Liam did it. It felt better. It felt right. Maybe things are going to work out the way I want them to.

We parked at the trailhead and I got out and looked at the sign. 'Bear's Peak'. My breath was hitched. I was never good with heights, but I figured I didn't have to deal with it until we were almost to the top.

Liam let Anna and Zayn start ahead of us. He took my hand in his and turned me to face him. He connected his lips to mine in a soft, sweet kiss before entwining our fingers and following behind Zayn and Anna.

Ten minutes into the hike and we were surrounded by trees. Birds flew from branch to branch singing their songs. Woodpeckers drilled holes into trees in search for food. I noticed that some of the birds flying were mocking birds. I smirked, remembering The Hunger Games, and whistled a soft tune. With my luck, the birds sang it back to me.

Liam looked at me and said, "How did you do that?"

I shrugged, "Special talent."

"Do it again," he said. I did, but this time I sang the soft melody. No words, just soft sounds. I hadn't realized that I sang until the birds sang it back to me. "Your voice is beautiful," Liam complimented.

"Thank you," I smiled shyly. He took my hand and we continued walking.

Anna and Zayn were close to each other. They were laughing and smiling. Zayn would nudge her with his elbow, and she would gently shove him back with her shoulder. I looked up to see Liam's facial expression had hardened. He looked angry. His hold on my hand got tighter, almost a death grip. I felt the circulation in my hand being cut off. "Ow. Liam, you're hurting my hand," I said while I put my other hand on top of his and pryed it out of his grip.
