     "I think I can bring Thalia back."

Steve's POV

I jumped up and raced to Ben, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him.

"What do you mean?" I asked frantically, watching as he turned pale.

"I think I can use Spark's body to power up Thalia and bring her back to life." As soon as he said Spark I let go and slumped back down on to the floor.

"She wouldn't want to risk Spark being brought back." I whispered.

"It wouldn't!" Ben exclaimed as he sat down next to me and showed me his files. "By using the electricity still pumping through Spark's veins, I can connect it with the electric cells in Thalia's body and restart her heart." I looked up at him, hopeful once more.

"What would the risks be?" I asked cautiously.

"Almost none." he said, fidgeting with the papers "Maybe enhanced electrokinesis, depression, you might lose the baby." he added in a whisper. I turned to him with wide eyes and looked at him angrily.

"Excuse me?" I asked loudly "We'll lose the baby?!"

"Steve, Thalia's dead. The baby is too. If I revive Thalia, there is a slim chance the baby will come back, but there's an equal chance that it won't. At this point it's a guessing game. You can save your wife and maybe save the baby, or you can lose both of them." I sighed and put my head in my hands.

"Is there a chance the baby will survive."

"It's slim but possible."

"Let's do it."

"OK, I need transfusions set up and going, I need 20 cc's of saline-"

"What?"

"I don't know but that's what they say in the shows."

"BEN!"

"I'm kidding! I need patient prepped and get the transfusion going and get ready for the defibrillator, set it up for 360 joules." I watched nervously from the side as they wheeled Thalia's body out and hooked her up to a bag of Spark's blood. "Do you want a few minutes alone with her?" Ben asked me quietly. I shook my head silently.

"I don't want to say goodbye to her twice." Ben gave me a sad smile and motioned for Bucky to lead me out of the lab while they finished up. Ben brought over the defibrillator and everyone held their breath as he shocked Thalia. Nothing happened. He upped the voltage and hit her again. Nothing. I closed my eyes and put my head in my hands. This was it. There was nothing that could bring her-

"Steve!" Bucky cried as he smacked my arm. I jerked my head up and saw Thalia looking around frantically. I knocked Bucky out of the way and bolted towards her.

"Thalia!" I screamed. She whirled around to look at me and a huge smile lit up her face.

"Steve!" she yelled as she bolted out of the bed and ran to me. She leaped into my arms as I caught her and spun her around, not daring to let her go.

"You're alive." I whispered as I kissed her forehead.

"Thanks to you." I smiled as she tilted her head to grin at me and we both leaned in to kiss one another.

"Um, hate to interrupt the moment, but did you want to hear about the baby or not?"
