Marcus's POV
''Hey guys I'm home.'' There is no response.
''Guys?'' Again no response. ''Lauren?'' I stop with the yelling because if Charles is home he wouldn't like it.
I look in the living room and kitchen, empty. I go upstairs to Collin his room, the first one on the right. I open the door and he isn't there. Next I go to Jeffrey's room, also empty. The last one, Lauren's room.
I open the door but she also isn't in her room. I'm about to close the door again when I notice a bit of blood on the floor. I walk in her room and follow the blood. Her bathroom is covered in blood. The whole sink, the ground and towels are all bloody. What the hell happened here?
I start calling her but I can hear her phone is going off in her bed. No luck there. I try Collin next. It takes a little time for him to answer his phone.
''Where're you? Why is Lauren's room covered in blood? Where is Jeffrey? What happened?''
''Slow down Marcus, we're in the hospital.'' The freaking hospital.
''Why are you in a hospital? Is it Lauren? Why didn't anyone inform me?'' My grip on my phone tightens.
''Yes it is Lauren, she had a real bad nose bleed and fainted so we took her here.'' I quickly make my way down the stairs, rushing back to my car.
''I'm on my way.'' I close my car door loudly. In five minutes I arrive at the hospital. I may have driven a bit fast and probably broke some rules, but who cares. My sister is in the hospital.
I call Collin again to ask where they are. Then I see Jeffrey and Collin walking in my direction. They argue a little.
''You tell him.'' Jeffrey says.
''No you can tell him.'' Collin says.
''No you're the older one.'' Jeffrey reply's.
''I don't care who tells me. But what do you need to tell me because I'm freaking out.''
Collin starts ''Well, Lauren got a pretty bad beating with dad this morning and after that she had a bad nose blood and she fainted from that. She lost a lot of blood.'' He whispers.
''What! why did dad beat her up?'' I whisper yell, but I already know why. Just because he can. ''Where were you guys?''
''We don't know. But she has a concussion and bruised and broken ribs.'' This was a bad one.
''Tell me where she is I want to see her, now.'' I get a couple of glares from people around us.
''She is in her room when we left she was sleeping.'' Jeffrey says. We went to the third floor and to room 329. Collin opened the door and stood still.
I looked around him, finding her bed is empty. Jeffrey turns around to look at Colling but Collin is already staring at me. I can see wants to say something but I don't care what he has to say. I want to know where my little sister is this instant.
Looking into the hallway I see a nurse behind an information desk. I make my way over there rather quickly. ''Sorry miss, may I ask something?'' My hands are grabbing on to the railing, trying to control my anger and worry.
'' Yes of course, what is it that I can help you with?'' she replies.
''My little sister was sleeping in room 329 and my brothers went downstairs to get me and now she is no longer in her room. Was she moved to another room or are they doing research on her at this moment?'' She looked down to the computer in front of her.
''There shouldn't be any room changes going on right now, but I'll take a look in the system. What is the patients name?''
''Lauren Marie Woodward.'' I answer swiftly.
''She should still be in her room. There aren't any researches going on with her.'' Nowhere closer to knowing where she is.
''Alright, well thank you. We'll go look for her then.'' I can see my knuckles turning white from the tight grip.
''If you need any help just say so and we'll help.''
''Thank you.'' I mutter and turn back around, to my idiot brothers.
''And?'' Collin asks when he noticed me entering the room.
''Nothing.'' I say.
''Maybe she went on a walk?'' Jeffrey says.
''If that is the case she shouldn't do that because she has broken ribs, a concussion and blood loss. Jeff can you stay here in case she comes back. Collin you take the right side, I'll take the left side.'' I order around but everyone does as I say for once.
We split up and go look for our little sister. I don't need to walk search long. At the end of the hallway there's a big window and I see a girl with beautiful curly brown hair standing in front of the window. She looks over her shoulder with her big brown eyes and smiles to me with a beautiful smile.
''Hey beautiful what are you doing here?'' I ask. I already texted Collin and Jeffrey that I found her.
'' Just enjoying the view, you?'' she asks me.
''Just looking for my little sister who should be in bed.'' I sternly look down at her.
'' I don't want to lay in bed, can we just go home?''
''We can go home when the doctors say you can go home. We're not taking any risks with you.''
''I told them I fell from the stairs. So the don't think dad has anything to do with it.'' I kiss her on the head and we slowly walk back to her room. I wanted to lift her up but that would probably just hurt her ribs. I help her get back in bed and she falls asleep. Her breathing souths me, I finally feel a bit calmer.
I take Jeffrey and Collin out the room. They start asking questions right away.
''She was just enjoying the view from the window. She probably woke up and went on a walk. But I don't want her to do that anymore. She should be laying down and getting rest.'' The nod in agreement. ''You guys can go home and get some rest, I'll stay with her tonight.'' They both nod again and give Lauren a kiss on the forehead and walk out of the room.
I pull a chair next to the bed and hold Lauren hand. She is so brave. She's way to nice to our father. He beats her because she is nice. She cleans, makes food, does the laundry and the grocery's. She shouldn't be doing all of those things. Dad should do those things. He doesn't even have work. He got fired because after the death of our mother he started drinking a lot and didn't show up for work and when he did he was drunk. That is why I'm making the money.
I lean back in the chair and just stare at her. Taking in the new bruise right under her eye. When suddenly a lot of beeping sounds and lights go off.
