Dad

Jeffrey's POV

''I'll get it!'' I yell through the house and pick up the Phone. 

''Hello.'' I say

''Hello, who is this?'' I men says.

''I am Jeffrey Woodward and you are?''

''I am Sander from the police department. I am very sorry but I have bad news.'' And in that moment my heart sinks to the ground. Marcus and Collin are home so it isn't about them or any other family because we don't have contect with them. It can only be about Lauren. Maybe there has been a robbery at the dinner and she got shot. 

''W-what i-is t-the n-news?'' I ask with a stotter.

''Your dad has escaped from prison, we're sending some agents to your house for protection because we don't know what he will do. If you have any idea's where he is going or could be going then should say it. He already killed two quards while escaping.'' Did he escape?!

''I don't know where he could go. But if I know something I'll call back.'' 

''Thank you.'' I end the call and run upstairs to Collin and Marcus.

''COLLIN! MARCUS!''  I yell while running upstairs.

''What is it?'' Marcus says coming out of his room.

''Dad escaped.'' I say.

''WHAT.'' Collin and Marcus say at the same time.

''The police is sending agents here to protect us and if we know anything we should call.''

Marcus's POV

''Collin you didn't pick up Lauren yet? Right?'' I ask.

''She hasn't texted me yet.'' Collin says looking at his Phone.

''When she does tell her she can't come home. This is probably the first place dad comes to. It is safer for her to be somewhere else.'' Jeffrey and Collin agree and we go down stairs and sit on the couch.

Only five minutes later there are cops outside watching our house and Lauren texted Collin and he did as I told him to. SHe probably doens't understand it but it is better this way. She said to Collin that Caleb was going to bring her home. But because Collin said she can't come home she probably is with Caleb. I have mixed feelings about that. I am happy about it because I know she will be save there but also she is going to sleep there. If he touches her in any way she doesn't want. He is dead.

The whole night is quiet. Nothing happened. He didn't show up at the house. Maybe he got out of the country and went somewhere far away. Right in that moment I heared it. It was a gunshot. I sit up in bed and look out the window. I see a body laying infront of the frontdoor. I hear a door open and footsteps running op the stairs. 

This moment feels like my last. This is going to be the end. Dad just shit someone and now he is going to shoot us. 

The door opens and then I see it. It isn't Dad, it is a policemen.

''Are you okay?'' He asks me. I just nod because I don't know what he means.

''He was climbing to or from your window. We shot him.'' He says.

''He is dead?'' The agents just nods. I let my body fall down and start to laugh. He's dead! He's gone. I never thought I would be so happy with someone dying. Collin and Jeffrey come in my room and we hug each other. It's finally over! Forever.

Lauren's POV

After taking photo's in the garden we go back inside. I hear my phone ringing and see Marcus name on the screen. 

''Marcus I am sorry if I did something what made you mad. I am never going to that again. Please let me come home. I love you guys!'' I try to hold back my tears.

''Lauren we love you to and you didn't do anything wrong. Dad is dead.'' What? He's dead? How? When? I lower my phone and I feel tears coming down my face. I don't know what kind of tears they are. Caleb looks at me and takes the phone out my hand and starts talking to Marcus. I don't know what he said because I completly zoned out. I sit down on the ground and just stare. Is this it? Is it over? After all those years, he's dead? I just  can't believe it. We're free. We can live are life. 

I see Caleb laying the phone on the table and walking towards me. I jump up into his arms and kiss him on the lips. His arms are strong around me.

''I am free.'' I almost whisper.

''yes you are.'' Caleb says smiling.

We're now three years further. Caleb and I went to college together and moved to live close by the school. 

Marcus and his fiance live in our house together. Because Collin moved out to and so did Jeffrey.

Collin started his own garage and he is loving it.

Jeffrey is really busy with his basketbal.

We visit each other every week and try to spend as much time together as possible.
