Hands off

The truth?

At that moment the font door swings open. I screamed.

I was doing my homework doing my homework in the kitchen while the frontdoor flies open. My dad storms in grabs my hair and throws my on the ground.  He kicks me in my stomach and I scream. He kicks me a couple more times before Collin and Marcus pull him away. Jeffrey helps me get up and I cry in his arms. He hugs me while Collin and Marcus try to get him out of the kitchen. 

I hear someone falling on the ground and I want to look over my shoulder but Jeffrey doesn't let me. I hear dad yelling and I hear Marcus and Collin softly scream from the pain. Dad is kicking and hitting them. 

For a couple seconds I hear nothing. But then I hear foorsteps coming towards Jeffrey and me. A get pulled away from Jeffrey and thrown on to the ground. Dad hittesJeffrey a couple times in his face and stomach before also falling on the ground. 

Dad walkes upstairs and we just laid there on the cold floor with pain over all parts of are body's.

Before I notiched I lifted my hands over my head and hide my face in my hands. I hear a man running into the kitchen.

'' Lauren it's okay, it's my husband.'' Heather says kindly to me with a soft voice.

I slowly take my hands from my face and look around to see a police officer standing behind me. He looks at me and back at his wife and son.

''I tought you guys would be in bed and sleeping.'' The man says while giving his son a kiss on top of the head and his wife a kiss on the cheek. 

''I was in bed sleeping but then we got a visitor.'' She said looking at me. The man also looks at me and then he looks at Caleb.

''Caleb do you need to tell me something?'' He asks his son and then looks with a smile at me.

''Why are you looking like that?'' Calebs ask him. I take I sip from my tea.

''Aren't you going to introduce me to your girlfriend?'' Calebs looks shocked and I almost choke in my tea.

''Wait up. Girlfriend? No, no, no, no, no, no You got it all wrong here. What is up with you guys? She tought I was hurting her because she was screaming and you think she's my girlfriend. You guys are crazy.'' He says to his parents. Heather begins to laugh and his dad just looks at him for another answer.

''Well if she isn't your girlfriend you should consider it.'' He gives his son a wink and gives me a big smile.

'' Dad just stop. She was lost. Wait were you lost?'' He looks at me. I just nod. ''Okay so she was lost and I saw her because I was walking around because I couldn't sleep. Yes I know I shouldn't have been walking outside at that time. But I saw she was being followed by someone so i acted like I knew her and took her here. So no she is not my girlfriend.'' He says to his dad.

''Well are you okay sweethart?'' The dad asks me. 

''Yes I'm okay, but I should be going home. Thank you for the tea.'' I glide from the stool.

'' You're not going yet honey.'' I hear Heather say. ''You can stay a little longer.''

I sit back down and just stare at my hands.

''Where were we?'' She asks Caleb.

''You asked her why she was so late on the Streets.'' Caleb says while looking at me.

''Yes that is right, Why were you so late outside?'' Heather asks. All eyes stare at me. I still don't know what I should tell.

''I-I euhm, I couldn't sleep as well so I went outside to grab some air but I got lost.'' I say to them.
