Do you ever get flashes? Glipseses of pictures? Of things you know you should remember, but simply can't. It's like you're asleep but at the same time you're living over and over and over again. Then suddenly the picture and flash come to a stand still and everything fits together. The picture finally makes sense and then in a second it's gone again. The meaning of life and death flashes across your eyes for a second only maybe once in our lives and we as humans forget it. So I woke up.
"Alright, alright! Jasper calm down!" I could hear distorted voices coming from all different direction. Above me, beside me and behind me.
"She's scared, Ella's scared" I heard Edward say quietly. How did he know I was scared. That's altogether entirely impossible.
"What's wrong Edward?" Rosalie asked Edward. I recognised her soft melodic voice.
"It doesn't matter right now I should go get Bella and tell her we've found Ella" I heard a whooshing sound and knew that Edward had left.
"Can you save her leg?" I heard Jasper ask. My leg must be in pretty bad shape. I suppose I did catch it in a bear trap.
"Emmett, I told you not to put out those bear traps they're lethal!" I could hear multiple arguments breaking out all the while I wasn't able to open my eyes.
"Come on love, open your eyes for me even if it just for a couple of seconds" I felt the softness of an ice cold hand stroke across my cheek as if to try and gently coax me out of my unconsciousness. As if it was the most natural thing in the world, I leaned my cheek more into his delicate touch. It was like I craved it, like I wanted him to always touch me and never go away.
"Hey there sleeping beauty" I open my eyes lazily and as unfocused as they were I still gazed upon his kind features. He's never looked so kind before. His eyes searching mine as if to drink in my total essence in case one day I just disappeared.
"How are you feeling?" He asked whilst he placed a cool hand on my forehead checking my temperature.
"Cold and tired and sore but other than that, I'm perfectly fine" I stated quietly suddenly remembering that he had left, just disappeared one day a few weeks ago and he chooses now to come back.
Jasper sighed and ran his cold nimble fingers through his blonde hair.
"I'm sorry I left, i though... I thought it was for the best" he said honestly.
"I know what you are Jasper.... it's too late for hidding.... I know that something in time connects us whatever it maybe I'm starting to remember, slowly but I do remember very few things about our past... before you were a vampire"
Jaspers eyes widened and his fists clenched his whole self went rigid.
"You have no idea how dangerous this is Ella, I can't... I can't loose you again" he said his voice almost too emotionless.
"Now now what do we have here" the men surrounded me and and looked me up and down. They looked greasy and drunk, half their teeth were missing and they were comming for me.
"No please just leave me alone, I'll give you anything you want" I shouted throwing my 1912 new purse at them.
"Hey, listen here boys she said anything we want didn't she"
"Hey, hey Ella, Ella!" I opened my eyes and the memory was gone, just like that I was taken out of a Vision. Nobody's ever been able to pull me out before.
"What just happened? What was that your eyes..."
I looked and saw jaspers face, his eyes scanning mine quickly checking them.
"What about my eyes?" I questioned avoiding the other question.
"They went white, just all white" I sighed as I sat up, careful not to move my leg too much.
Jasper held me against his strong but cold chest. His hands stroking my head as if to stroke an answer out of it.
"I can't, you'll think of me differently, I'm the real monster jasper" I said quietly clutching his soft cotton shirt in an attempt to stop him for looking at my face.
"There's no way you can be anymore of a monster than I am" he said rubbing my shoulders and kissing the top of my head.
"I have visions of the past and present, the past is more clear but the present visions can sometimes be hazy or when I wake up I can't remember them" I relaxed into jaspers arms. His ice cold skin soothing against my slight fever.
"You're not a monster your just... different" Jasper spoke after a short silence and I felt a sense of calmness come over me. I sunk completely into his chest, the exhaustion of everything finally catching up with me.
"Sleep for a while" he said getting us into a comfy position, using his arms to protect me as he wrapped them around me and soon I felt myself drift off into a long awaited peaceful slumber.
Jaspers pov
In the past, meeting one of Ella's reincarnations I had always worried for the normal reasons of course such as biting her and accident killing the only person who made me feel like my soul had been returned to my unread self and of course that the volturi would eventually find out that I was in love with a human but this times it's different, more dangerous.
I smiled to myself as I felt her finally loosen up and welcome dreamland completely, her cheeks slightly flushed a crimson red from the cold bitterness of my body and her fever reacting with one another.
"You know we won't be able to keep her from them forever" Carlisle walked gently into the room, his hand resting on Ella's wrist taking her pulse.
I knew of course he was talking about Arro and his king's of the voltori. Each member of their cult like coven possessing gifts that were far superior beyond any ordinary vampire making them together to be the most powerful vampire coven in the world, therefore leading and creating rules for us all. Arro, the leader would be more than displeased to find out about such interaction between me and Ella but I knew that she was in far more danger than simply being killed by one of arros henchmen.
"They will find out, one way or another, I can delay it but I can't put off the inevitable jasper" I sighed as I looked from Ella to Carlisle.
"Can we not create something to mask the scent of her power?" I asked him but Carlisle simply shook his head.
"It would just wear off immediately, Ella posses and incredible gift much like Alice and Edward, masking her power would make the volturi more suspicious, you know what they are like"
"Then what are our options?" I sat up making Ella whine in her sleep but luckily with the ability I have she didn't wake.
"Not many to be honest, we can't leave her because Ella needs to be protected sooner or later the volturi will catch her scent whether we are her or not... I think it's best if we discuss this later, you need to get her home Charlies been on the phone 6 times already"
I chuckled slightly as Carlisle rolled his eyes displaying a rare moment of undissaplined humour.
"I like how cold you are jasper" and he hummed in response.
"You always have, now sleep little one"
