"And his face turned bright pink!"

Kardia said in between her laughs as Megan just smiles. Megan did that a lot lately, instead of laughing but I guess that's kinda hard when you have a pipe shoved down your throat. If you looked though at Megan's eyes, they were twinkling with happiness, and that satisfied me enough. Instead of reading Megan a book like we usually do, I decided to tell Megan about my day.  Megan quickly scribbled something down on the paper and handed it to me.

That's a first, it read.

"Yeah, it is." My smile slightly faltered.

"I was wondering why you didn't come to visit." Megan spoke. "I was worried."

I took Megan's hand. "Yeah, Sly's coming by later."

"He and Walter came by." Megan said.

"Really?" I paused to think about it. "I'm pretty sure they'll come back later, just to check on you."

Megan picked up the pen and started to write inside the notebook again. Because of the infection, because it's deadly.

"Yeah..." I trail off. "But don't worry, they'll come back."

Walter wants me to do the trail, Kardia.

I bit my lip, hard. Walter was being a bitch, a really big one, by forcing Meg to do that trail. It hurts, and I know that from personal experience.

"Well, Walter is being a douche." I blurtly say. Meg gives me the evil eye.

"Sorry." I looked down, fiddling with my fingers.

It's okay. Don't worry about it.

"I'll try to make Walt stop. He can't keep causing you pain." I protested.

Once Walter makes up his mind, there's no changing it.

"I'll make him, Meg. He can't do this."

He can. It's in his rights.

"Screw his rights, what about your feelings?" I pointed out.

I'll be fine.

"That bullshit does not  work on me, Megan." I run my fingers through my hair. "Do you want to know how many times I've said that but truly, I just want to jump off a bridge?"

"Kardia-"

"Do you know how much I had to go through? I don't want you to go through it too!"

"Kard-"

"Do you know how much pain I would go through? It felt like I was dying, I don't want you go through that, I want you to be cured, I wan-"

"Kardia!"

I stop and look at Megan. "Come and sit down, Kardia."

I sighed and plopped back into the small hospital chair.

"We want a lot of things, but what we need is more important, so what you need right now is to take a few deep breath, together, okay?" Megan assured.

I nodded. I take one deep breath with her. "One." And another.

"Two." Megan said. We both took another deep breathe but then, Megan started to hyperventilate.

"Megan?" I tried grab her shoulders, but she started to seize.

"Shit." I mumbled. I pressed the nurse button as the beeping become more rapid and nurses rushes in, some pulling me out. For once didn't fight it and was told to wait in the lobby until they gotten her settled.
