"You know, you didn't have to say that." I finally had catched up with Walter, who was walking toward the doors, exiting the building.
"They were being ignorant and selfish." Walter argued as he pushed the doors open. "Beside, they are wasting their time doing those childish things when they could be doing something that won't leave you more than 900,000 dollars in debt."
I sighed, realizing how stubborn of a bitch he can be at times. I putted my hand on his chest to stop him from moving forward. "Walter, not everybody is amazing at calculus, geometry and physics like us. Some people have talents in other places than the academic side."
Walter pushed me aside, walking forward somewhere. I spinned around on my heel and continued walking alongside Walter. We walked in silence, taking in our surroundings. The smell of alcohol, food and the salty air from the lake that wasn't far from here wrapped around the campus. People's info popped up in my mindscreen, but not as much as it would've been. Whatever was on the campus was interfering with my mindscreen, not that I'm complaining because I would do mostly anything to shut up my brain.
Picnic blankets were placed on green patches of grass, kids were blowing enormous bubbles while some were playing those kiddy games. Laughter and chatter filled the air with sounds, along with the sounds of music booming from someplace in the campus area. Students were lounging around the area, on the steps, on the benches, everywhere, really. It suddenly hits me that I have no idea where we were going.
"Um, Walter? Where are we again." I asked, glancing around if there was a campus map that we could use if we were actually lost.
"East side of the campus." Walter answered, studying at the small fountain that we were walking by. "You thought we were lost?"
I chuckled at Walter's perfectly accurate guess. "Yeah, but you seem to know where we're going."
"Couldn't you have used your mindscreen to figure that out?" Walter questioned, looking with a confused face.
"Whatever we're dealing with, it's causing my mindscreen to act completely strange." I explained as Walter stops suddenly.
"Wha-" I begin, but Walter shushes me.
"Do you hear that?" Walter asked, probably wondering if he was finally going crazy as he pressed into his ear. His com. Of course, he was wondering if he actually heard something.
"Walter, Kardia, can you guys hear me?" Paige called out through the comms.
"Yeah, loud and clear Paige, what's up?" Walter replied.
"Happy got two college students, the ones who coded the computer. They were attacked by someone and you need to get back to the room as soon as possible." Paige demanded, her voice sounding errgent.
"Okay, Paige, on our way." I abligded, glancing at Walter to see if he got the same message as I did. He nods.
"Come on, this way." Walter motions as we speed walk to the room. We could've run, but that would cause more of the scene and we didn't want that.
Thankfully, though, we weren't that far from the hotel room because it was on the campus area. It took us about six minutes before we walked into the crappy hotel room. There were two college kids, sitting on the sofa.
"Who are these kids?" Walter questioned.Happy stood up and filled us in on how she and these two students were attacked at the Pi Up event and that they were the ones that code that computer. Walter sit downs and opens up his computer, while I stand next to Paige. My mindscreen popped up their info right next to their faces.
