Scandal 45 – In which the husband gives her passion back
Cassandra placed her phone down the bedside table, contemplating what she actually said to Anya over the phone. What the hell. She actually told the woman to choose Anton in a way. What had she been thinking exactly?
Anya wasn’t right for Anton, Livie was.
She heard the door creaked open, she looked up and smiled at her husband. She shook her head mentally, what done was done. It wasn’t like Anya would go to Anton and actually choose him. Anya was a scared cat, she wouldn’t dare.
Naglakad si James palapit sa kanya at dun niya lang napansin yung silk hanky na hawak hawak nito. Nang nasa tapat na si James ay bigla nitong tinakpan yung mga mata niya gamit yung silk hanky.
“James what are you doing?” she asked tentatively.
“It’s a surprise.” Sagot nito habang tinatali na nito sa likod ng ulo niya yung hanky.
“I don’t like surprises.” She mumbled.
“I know.” She was sure she heard the smile in his voice. He took her hand and helped her stand. He then placed her hand in the crook of his arm, he escorted her out of the room and unto the hallway they walked.
Given her knowledge of Rosslyn Hall, she was sure they were going over the east wing of the hall.
She had always loved the conservatory that was her haven in this cold estate. That place was the only place here in the vast estate of Rosslyn Hall that she felt home.
They stopped from walking, “We’re here.” James whispered down to her ear. He moved away from her and she heard a door opened. She felt James moved in front of her and he slowly took the soft silk out of her eyes, looked into her eyes and smiled sheepishly. “I thought I’d give you back your passion.” He said and followed her eyes as it wondered trough the room.
He held out a hand, she placed hers in his and together they walked inside the room, the room was breathtakingly beautiful, she knew this room. She designed this room with James.
“I forced you to give up something you loved because I wanted you to be miserable as I was. I was a cruel bastard. I was selfish, I’m still selfish that’s why I built this for you. I don’t want you to go anywhere else so you could paint. I don't want you hide under a pseudonym. I want the world to know that you, my wife is the greatest artist in the world.”
She stared at him with tears threatening to fall at any moment. She was touched by his sweet gesture. She let her eyes roamed around the room, he really wasn’t just giving her an art studio but slowly he was giving back the parts of her life to her. He was handing it to her in a silver platter. She realized why the moment she took the room in, it was because he wanted a fresh start with her.
