Scandal 65 – In which they marry
James found himself breathing a sigh of relief, Jenny was a match and they had proceeded with the transplant. Now they were just waiting for Cassandra’s body to recuperate and they’d proceed with the brain surgery.
Everything was just well and thank God for it.
James gazed down at his wife, today was her brain surgery, he was nervous, who wouldn’t be? There were million things that could go wrong inside the operating room but he willed himself to remain optimistic.
Cassandra squeezed his hand gently and smiled at him, “I’ll be fine.”
He grinned at her, “Of course you will.” He said and kissed her in her head, he then stared into her eyes and he couldn’t help himself he just said it, “Cassie, do you remember when you told me that you don’t need a hero, that you just need me?” when she nodded he continued, “Well, I need you to be a hero.” Cassie raised her eyebrow at him so he explained further, “Heroes, well, they don’t give up. They fight till the end, no matter how the fight seems to be a losing battle, they’d fight and never give up. So I need you to be a hero and fight.”
She smiled fondly at him, raised her hand to touch his cheek, “I love you.”
“I love you more.”
“I know.” Cassandra said, “After all this is over, James… let’s start our family.”
James eyes widen, of course, he’d want to start their family after all they’d wasted seven years well no more. “Whatever you want.”
A knock startled them both and James turned around to glare at the person who interrupted them only to see it was their family. They all went inside with the balloons and flowers that they had brought.
One by one, the women kissed Cassandra in her cheek and the men nodded at James. “How are you feeling, Cassandra?” Aunt Venetia asked.
“Better.” Cassandra said.
They chatted until the doctors and nurses came by to wheel Cassandra to the operating room, they said their goodbyes and James lingered for a while, kissing his wife and reminding her to be a hero.
With that Cassandra was brought to the operating room and they all waited for her.
James, who wasn’t a believer prayed to God. Prayed to Him that He’d take care of his wife, that let her be alive. He prayed for her wellbeing. Prayed that they’d have more years together.

His Royal Highness, Prince Roderick wasn’t coldhearted. He’d like to think of himself as a kind man but now… he’d be cruel and cold. He needed to be. For his family he’d do anything. Even sign a deal with the devil himself.
