Hindi alam ni Anton pero dun sa oras na yung, yung nagkatinginan si Anya at yung prinsepe ay dun niya naintindihan ang lahat. Lahat lahat. Ni hindi na nga siya nasaktan sa nakita niya. Hindi, ang naramdaman nalang niya ay ang ginahawa.

He walked away with relief because finally everything just made sense to him. Naalala niya tuloy yung pag-uusap nila ni Cassandra bago siya nag punta dito, tinawagan niya nun si Cassandra para ipaalam na pupunta siya. Not that, Cassandra would have stopped him if she tried.

"Anton for all the years I've been with James, I learned when to back off. I can provoke him to death but I know when it's time to just let it go. At ngayon sinasabi ko na sayo Anton, back off. Let her go. Nasasaktan ka na. You're holding on too tightly that you're only hurting yourself." Cassandra said over the phone.

 

He gripped the phone tightly, hindi niya alam kung paano pa ipapaliwanag kay Cassandra yung nararamdaman niya kaya sinabi nalang niya yung pinakasimple, “I love her. She’s it for me.”

 

Cassandra sighed, “Alam mo sa tingin ko? Sa tingin ko hindi mo na talaga siya mahal. You love the idea of loving her. Of being with her. You love the idea that this time, she’s going to choose you. You live for that. But it’s been nine years Anton. She’s different and you’re different. You’re not the Anton who fell in love with her and she’s not the Anya who fell in love with you.”

 

“That’s not true.” He denied, “Mahal ko si Anya. Hindi naman porket maraming taon na ang nakalipas ay magbabago yung nararamdaman ko. Look at you, even after everything, you still feel the same way about James.”

 

“Pero magkaiba tayo, Anton. I allowed myself to love another though it didn’t work out but still I allowed my heart to feel for another. You on the other hand, you don’t. You have this asinine idea that only Anya could be it for you. That she’s it for you. You don’t see what others see right in front of you. You don’t allow yourself to feel.”

 

Pero hindi naiintindihan ni Cassandra, si Anya lang talaga yung mahal niya, wala ng iba. Hindi niya alam kung paano pa magmahal ng iba.

 

“Mahal ko siya at alam kong mahal niya din ako Cass. Nasayang na yung siyam na taon at Cass eto yung pinakahihintay ko, yung bumalik siya sa akin. Na ako naman yung pipiliin niya. Hindi ko to kailan man mabibitawan dahil eto yung naging determinasyon ko sa loob ng siyam na taon.”

 

“I know. But I still wish you wouldn’t. Hindi ka lang kasi yung nasasaktan.” Cassandra said, “I just hope that when you realize that I am right, that you don’t love her the way you used to anymore, it’s not too late for you. I mean, she’s not going to wait for you forever.” Hindi alam ni Anton pero alam niyang hindi si Anya yung tinutukoy nito, isang tao lang naman lang yun siguro.
