Chapter 3 ~ Setting Up

Raven's P.O.V

With the help of Destery and Nathan we successfully set up my tv with my Xbox and PS3. Since I had a lot of games we had to go out and buy a new book case just for games so that was fun. I needed a computer desk because apparently mine got broken on the way here so we also went out to buy that so here we are assembling it.

Well not really 'we' it's more me and Destery assembling. Nathan's trying to screw something in and we just laugh at the fact that he's never going to be able to get this desk together.

I reached out for the screw driver onto my left before I felt a warm (must I say very soft) hand on mine. I looked up to see a blushing Destery. Awe he looked so cute when he was blushing! I smiled at him and took the screwdriver and got down to business.

After we assembled the table I hugged the guys in gratitude and I could feel Destery's body heat on mine. Damn this boys always warm. Like he's never cold. I swear, touch his skin anytime and he's always warm.

The guys left to go to Taco Bell so it was just me in the house. I decided to check some emails so I did and I saw one from April, my best friend I haven't spoken to in a while. I opened it up and saw a mp3 file attached.

The email read:

'Hey gurl!

I know it's been tough moving in and stuff so that's why I haven't called you but I decided to email because I know you only check your emails when you finish your work so whenever you see this it'll notify me!! Anywho, here's a song and IT IS PURE GOLD! YOU SHALL LISTEN TO IT FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER!! MUHAHAH! Anyways, just listen to the song.

Mhm, I wonder what type of song got this girl excited? I clicked on it and let the song blast through my speakers. I nodded my head in satisfaction as I turned up the volume and walked out of my room. That's why I love living without parents, no one to tell you to put down the music. Except for your neighbours but other then that your pretty much good.

I walked into the kitchen, the song was on repeat so I didn't have to go back and click play every time it finished. I took out a monster and opened it. I slowly sipped on it as I walked back into my room. I noticed kitty sitting on my chair. I smiled and picked her up and onto my lap.

I pet her for a while until she got bored and left. Well, that made me feel more lonely then ever. I narrowed my eyes at her as she skimped off. I put my attention onto uploading my YouTube video.

I was watching some videos on the weird side of YouTube because I'm weird. I eventually got bored and played that song again. It's really catchy and it gets stuck in your head really fast, the person singing it is really talented too!

I heard the door open and ran to the food. When I got there I got the bag out of Nathan's hands and sat down in the kitchen. I took out my food and took a bite. You could hear the song playing all the way from my bedroom, the use of good speakers.

"Where did you get that song from?" Destery asked cocking a eyebrow. I shrugged "My best friend sent it to me. It doesn't write the title of the song or anything but the person singing it is really good" I said taking another bite of my burrito. "Oh that's cool" Destery said really happily.

We ate in silence since we were all stuffing our faces. Well silence with music because the song was on repeat the whole time. I noticed the annoyed look on Nathan's face and laughed. He looks so weird.

I finished my food and decided to sing along to the song.

"Across the ocean, too cold for crashing waves. Where time is frozen, waiting for you to say. This love with you the best that I've ever felt. I'll wait for you even after the ice melts" I sang out on my way to my room.

I sat down on my bed and daydreamed. Thinking about how far I've got in life. It's my birthday in 2 days. I smiled, I'm finally going to be 18!!

"You have the voice of a angel you know?" I heard a voice from the doorway. I looked up to see Destery smiling at me. "Awe thanks" I smiled back while sitting up. "Why don't you come in?" I said patting down on the spot next to me. "Sure" he said as he came and sat down beside me.

I nervously laughed, maybe I should tell him about the whole Alex thing. "So you remember how Nathan asked why I had moved away in a rush?" I told him, he nodded not saying anything.

I took in a deep breath "I was adopted by Alex Gaskarth like 1 week ago. When I told him I got accepted into the university of Florida he offered me money. I didn't want it so I said no and then he yelled at me to accept the money and I just yelled back and then I left and got a plane ticket from south Caroline to Florida. When I got off the plane I realized that I don't have a place to stay so I had just went on this website and found you guys" I finished, Destery listening the whole time.

He gave me a big hug and I just burst into tears. The tears I've been keeping in for yours just came out. The pain of being a orphan, never being adopted, being alone. He didn't say anything but rubbed my back and whispered 'it's going to be okay' into my ear.

I finished crying 20 mins later and I hid my face in my hands. I must look horrendous! I got up with my face on hands and went to the washroom as fast as I can. I must look so bad. I reaches the washroom and locked the door behind me.

Calm down Raven, you don't need to have a panic attack. I tried taking deep breaths but I couldn't. Oh no.

I heard pounding on the door and immediately opened it up and did the choking sign to Destery. His eyes widened and I tried to say "Panic attack". It came out in a whisper. I immediately got engulfed me into his arms. I felt myself calm down and start to breath properly.

"Thanks" I said with my head down. I still look really bad. I looked up and saw Destery wetting a cloth and wiping my face with it. "Thanks again" I said smiling. "Don't stress about, you just needed a shoulder to cry on and I was there" he said smiling. He continued to wipe my face until he finished and pulled me up.

He took me out of the washroom and pushed me into my room. "Change so we can go out" he said closing the door behind him leaving me confused.

I shrugged my shoulders and got ready. I took out a black skulled dress with my other skull things. This reminds me of when we went clubbing with the boys. I sighed, get over it Raven!
