We arrived home late, after a massive party at Flyer’s Desire, partly a post-reception and a ‘welcome home’ party. Whatever party you wanted to call it, we were exhausted.

“Wow, that was…” Cylak trailed, trying to find the right word as we entered our house. “Epic.”

“Sure, whatever you say.” I said as I hurried to the bathroom before he did. I slipped into my nightdress and exited, flipping down onto our bed.

“So, Mrs. Rose.” He said in a teasing tone, his shirt off and revealing his sexy chest and handing me a drink of some sort, hopefully not beer. “What do you want to do now?”

The drink was down my throat before he could finish. Hell yeah, it was beer. “Whatever you want.”

He laughed as I handed him back the glass and he filled it up again, and I drank it down. “Oh wait, I don’t want to be sick in the morning.”

“You won’t be.” Cylak assured as he sat down next to me, cupping his hands around my face and kissing my lips gently. I started kissing him back, and wrapped my arms around his neck.

I enjoyed the moment, but it ended when my phone started ringing. Cylak and I groaned in unison, and separated as I reached for my phone on the nightstand.

“Hello?” I answered rudely, but I didn’t mean to be.

“Hey!” It was Nicole. I went silent for a moment, wondering how there was enough reception, but whatever. “Calia?”

“Oh yeah, I’m here.” I said, snapping out of it.

“And good, they found you.” She answered.

“Yeah yeah, my uncle found us in Vegas.” I answered truthfully.

“Your uncle?” She asked confusingly. “Calia, I thought you were adopted.”

I gulped. “I am, but he’s my real uncle. Trust me on that one.” I gave Cylak an index finger up signaling ‘hold on a sec’ and he nodded and handed me another drink. I drank it gratefully.

“So, how are you and your husband?” She asked, sounding like a gossipy teenager. Which, she was.

“We’re fine, thank you.” I mocked her tone perfectly.

“That’s good.” She replied, and another drink. “Well, I gotta go, but call often!”

“Yeah yeah, I will.” I said as the line went dead. I shut it off and slammed it back on the nightstand. Another drink. That’s, what, six, right?

“You’re gonna get drunk.” Cylak said playfully as I fell over on the bed, landing on his chest. “Scratch that. You are drunk.”

“I am not drunk.” I said defensively. “I’ve only had a couple drinks.”

“You’ve had more than a couple, Calia.” He laughed as I kissed his lips, glad he was keeping count.

“I bet you had more than a couple, too.” I pointed out as he kissed down my neck and back to my lips.

“Yeah, but I’ll admit to that.” He smiled, making me attracted to his lips, and kissed them more. He wrapped his arms around my back, mine around his neck, and stayed close together for as long as I could remember.

Except, after that, I lost it.

I woke up sheepishly, my head on Cylak’s chest, my body wrapped in Cylak’s arms. It was still dark, so I knew I hadn’t been asleep very long. I tried to move, but couldn’t. Even asleep, Cylak was stronger than me.

“Morning.” Cylak whispered suddenly, making me jerk up.

“Morning.” I whispered, trying to break free, but he moved me closer to him, which I thought wasn’t possible.

“Come on, Calia, relax.” Cylak groaned, making my lie still.

“God damn, Cylak.” I groaned, rubbing my head that had a forming migraine. “What happened last night?”

“You got drunk and we slept together.” He answered truthfully, nonchalant. I didn’t react that way.

“What?” I said in denial. I didn’t want to believe it. Dad would kill me, and then Cylak. I untangled out of his arms and ran out of the bedroom and into the bathroom, shutting the door. I knew he was right, but I didn’t want to believe it. My hair was a mess, I was only in my undergarments, and had no idea where my nightdress was. Whatever happened, I was screwed for it.

“Oh relax, Calia.” Cylak said, knocking on the door lightly. “Your parents don’t even have to know.”

“If I’m pregnant, they do.” I shot at him angrily, but I knew it wasn’t his fault. It was me and my liking to any form of alcohol.

“Calia, you stayed abstinent. What more do they want?” He asked, opening the door slowly and wrapping his arms around my waist. “And besides, you know you wanted it, and you know you enjoyed it.” He stroked my hair slowly, his hand getting stuck every now and then.

Damn him for being right.

It turned light outside, so I shooed him out of the bathroom and took a nice warm shower I desperately needed. I realized I hadn’t brought in any clothing, so I wrapped myself in a towel and poked my head outside the door, where I found Cylak cooking something, his back facing me. I tiptoed quietly back into our room, where I took some clean clothes and headed back to the bathroom.

“Good job.” He laughed as he saw me, still wrapped in a towel.

“Shut up.” I ordered as I shut the door and got dressed quickly. My hair was a pain to dry, but eventually, it got there. I exited to find pancakes on the table.

“You can cook.” I said in awe as I sat down. “It can be done.”

“Yes, amazingly.” Cylak teased as I took a bite. Mmmm. “Oh, and Aaron called earlier. He said that even though we’re married, we still have classes until the end of the year."

“Damn.” I groaned after I swallowed. “Can’t he just worry about himself?”

“Apparently not.” Cylak laughed, making me laugh, too. Let’s see, today was… Sunday? Yay, no classes! “So, now what you wanna do?” He asked.

I paused for a moment, thinking of what possible thing in Tanyela that a husband and wife could do in Tanyela. But then again, that would be everything.

“Let’s do everything.” I smiled.

Cylak shook his head. “Alright, but if we do something stupid, it’s your fault.”

“Me? Stupid?” I asked, taking is offensively. “Since when?”He glared at me, so I added “Don’t answer that.”

“Yeah.” He smiled as we finished breakfast, and we headed out, to do everything we could possibly do in a day.

I know that today was just a day, but we were starting a life together. And I was ready for whatever happened in it.
