As I stepped on to the ground my nerves started to tingle. It wasn't fear, or nervousness. It meant that I was ready to fight. I looked at the boys who started to take their places across from my side of the field.
There were four of them. They had big muscles and a bulky personality each. They had big smirks across their faces, and looked really tough. But hey, I've been through tougher.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by the sudden movement of one of the men. He was running towards me with the ball, and almost instinctively I stepped in front of him and charged.
I grabbed his waist, and pushed him down across the field. He landed with a loud thud, and he groaned. I ignored him and swiftly picked the ball up and started to run across the field with it. The smiles that were across the boys faces suddenly disappeared, as they turned around to grab the ball away from me.
It was just the three of them left against me alone. My lungs were burning, and my legs were on fire as I continuously sprinted across the field. Two of the three men were able to pass me and were in front of me now charging at me.
If I turned around one would catch me and if I kept on going straight ahead then both of them would get me. I needed to think fast, but what should I do.
I an idea hit me. I just needed the boys in front me to come a little closer, but that would also mean getting my self hurt badly. Oh, who cares. I challenged someone, and I never go down without a fight.
I ran for just a few more moments, and as soon as the boys in front of me were about a foot away, I turned sideways and dropped on the ground. As planned all three of them collided with each other, and fell to the ground. But the impact hurt a lot, and I felt my head spin for a moment.
I didn't have much time before they got up again, so I jumped up to my feet and started for the goal post. I didn't have to worry too much since the boys were pretty far away from me. I jogged up to the goal post, and dropped the ball near it.
I put my hands on my thighs panting, and smiled. Man, did that feel good, I won. I wiped the sweat off of my forehead and looked towards the benches where my friends were standing. Sam, Charlotte, Nick, Ian, and Jacob were clapping and screaming for me. I smiled at their enthusiasm. I looked towards Stephen and Robert, and I was shocked. Was that a smile? On Mr. Adela's face, and that to be for me? I don't know why but I started to laugh. I guess it was like Deja vu. I made Stephen laugh again, I did.
I turned around to face the guys that I versed, and they looked pretty beat up. One had huge gash around his forehead, and the others held on to their stomachs. I felt pretty bad for them, honestly.
I started towards them, and before I could say anything I was hit with a stupid comment.
"Hey, you played pretty good. You beat a state level champion" said the boy that I challenged.
Was he serious. He still couldn't stop showing off, could he.
I sarcastically laughed, and said "You don't stop do you. I just beat your ass out there, and I could have walked out on you but I stayed to make sure you guys were ok. And this is what you have to say to me! A unbelievably stupid comment. You know what if you want to show off, then I can do that too and probably even better. Show some sportsmanship spirit man!" I snared.
"Oh yeah, and what did you do? You just managed to beat me in a stupid mock game, not a big deal dude!" he said.
"Yeah she managed to beat your ass along with your idiotic gang, alone. What have you got to say about that, dude" said Stephen.
Stephen! I didn't even realize he was behind me, let alone the fact that the others were too.
"Maybe I didn't make my self clear. She beat a state level champion. Do you even know how hard it is to get where I am?" said the boy I versed.
"You bet I do. And don't feel too bad, you lost to a national champion too" I said smirking.
I started to walk off with Stephen when he put his hand in mine, and the others were right behind us.
"Wait, what! What do you mean? At least tell me your name!" he yelled.
I ignored him, and was slightly dazed. I guess it was from exhaustion, or from the fact that Stephen held my hand and I held it back. It was like a reflex, because I didn't even know when I started hold his hand tighter. It just felt like this was....right.
Ok so once again this chapter was really short, but don't worry there is more to come. I didn't want to ruin the feel of the moment so I stopped it there. I also know that I am a day over due, it's because I got caught up in something. Sorry about that.
I want to let you know that be prepared for more Hazel and Stephen, I have some cool stuff planned for them. But just be patient with me, because I have a lot going on and it is hard to keep writing along with the other...stuff going on.
So in short I am sorry if you don't receive updates from me on a regular basis as promised but I will try. Please stay with me, and like and comment. Also follow me if possible!!
Thanks
Geetika
