"All right, so I double checked the number, and all the information that we have is...accurate" said Sam whilst looking at a piece of paper.
My brother stood up from his chair, and sat beside me on the bed.
"You sure you're ready to do this?" he asked.
I smiled and said "Jesus Jake, it's just a phone call. It's not like he can shoot me from over... well where ever he is".
Stephen sighed and typed down the number in his phone, he lingered on a moment before pressing the dial key. He stared into my eyes, and opened his mouth to say something but closed it.
Was he hesitant?
He cleared his throat and said "Don't worry about this Hazel, you'll do fine if you stay calm".
"Exactly! Don't express how you feel, and you'll be fine. Don't let him sense you're scared in any way" said Sam.
I rolled my eyes. Jesus Christ!
"Okay wait! I'm the one who's supposed to be talking to Russo, and I'm the one who should be worried. Why are you all stressing?" I said laughing.
Jacob rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled, and Sam smirked. Only Rob and Stephen remained silent with a stern look across their face. I stopped smiling and cleared my throat, and put on my best serious face. Sam and Jacob got the message and sat down looking towards the two men expectantly.
"Do. Not. Joke. About. This. This man is dangerous you fools, and Hazel is taking enough risk as it is. The least you can do is grow up" said Rob.
His tone wasn't harsh like Stephen's but it was definitely strong enough to make Samantha and Jacob stay quite. They both looked down as if they had just been scolded by an elder for a bad deed. I smiled at their innocence.
"Well than, let's get this over with shall we" said Stephen passing the phone over to me.
Once everyone took a seat around me I asked "Ready?".
Everyone nodded, and I pressed the dial key.
After three rings there was a sweet voice at the other end.
"Hazel! I hope this is you, I've been waiting forever for this call" yelled the chirpy voice at the other end.
Wait wasn't Russo a... a man? This is a joke, and they think I'm an idiot. Ha I'll show them.
"Yes this is Hazel, but can you do me a favor dear and tell your boss to talk to me like a man. He doesn't need to send his minions to talk to me" I said with a confident smile.
The woman laughed a loud at the other end and said "Oh you poor, poor girl. You don't have any idea, do you? Well let me clarify, I am Russo".
I smirked and played along "Well it's clear he doesn't want to talk to me, so why don't you convey the message he has sent".
The woman sighed in defeat and said "I'm surprised, you got away from my men here in Ireland. I heard you injured many of them...I don't appreciate violence against my people. The next time this happens there will be a severe consequence-".
The woman kept on rambling about how upset she was of the destruction we had caused here in Ireland. I looked up at each of my team players. Stephen had an emotionless face on, that was hard to decipher. Rob looked like he was going to jump into the phone and kill the woman himself.
I know how you feel Rob.
My brother was looking impatient, and it felt like he was going to burst any time soon. I turned around to look at Sam when I saw her panicked expression. She was tapping on her wrist in a gesture telling me I was running out of time. My eyes widened as I saw a drop of sweat fall from Sam's forehead, as she furiously typed on the computer.
"Alright I get it! We won't hurt any more of your men, I just need to know where we are supposed to meet next" I said annoyed.
The woman chuckled and said "Hmm let's see. I think... Egypt would be an excellent place to start over. What do you think angel?".
My voice stopped half way. Angel?
"Are you still there dear?" asked the woman.
I gulped and said "Egypt sound fine, you can send the exact information later on. I assume this conversation is over?".
"That eager to stop eh? Well alright then, I hope to see you soon Hazel. Very soon" said the woman on the phone before ending the call.
I disconnected the call, and sighed slightly confused.
Sam typed something up and literally threw her laptop on the bed.
"It took you long enough!" yelled Sam.
I was shocked by her sudden outburst.
"Samantha!" said Rob. "She did fine".
Sam sighed and sat down again wiping the sweat off of her forehead.
"Yeah, you did. Sorry, it was just a lot to bounce our location off every second to avoid getting caught" said Sam again.
"No worries, but hey at least now we know where to go next. Egypt...yay" I said with fake enthusiasm.
"Well it isn't that bad, besides I've heard the hotels there are just marvelous. No Stephen?" said Rob with a playful smile across his face.
I knew what he was trying to do. He was trying to crack Mr. Adela...huh sometimes I think there's more to those two then meets the eye. I smiled as Stephen glanced at Rob to me, and back again.
"You two are such idiots" said Stephen before turning around to leave the room.
"Well, he looks all into it doesn't he" said Jacob.
We all looked at each other and burst out laughing. These were some of the times that were the best in between all of us. I loved my friends, and even though I barely knew them I have grown closer to them without hesitation.
That voice seemed so familiar Hazel. No. No it couldn't possibly be...her!
