Chapter 33
"How are you feeling?" asked Milo as he sat at the breakfast bar in the middle of Adria and Sirius' kitchen. She had woken up early, called them on her telephone and asked them all to come to her house for breakfast. All she wanted was something to do to keep herself busy, and she needed to see her friends.
"I'm alright. Sirius helped me cope...last night," she shrugged, cheeks tinging red though they didn't see it when she turned quickly. She was wearing Sirius' hoodie and he was still asleep from their events just the night previous.
"It was a tough mission," James grumbled. He was pretty mad at how bad the missions had been getting, and both him and Lily showed up to her house with more bandages than she had ever seen on them, "fucking brutal."
"I think that was the hardest," Lily sighed, leaning into Finn who wrapped his arm around her, "there was so many of them, I don't think I've ever seen that much of them before. Attacks are becoming even more frequent too - and I know a lot of them got out alive after running, but we killed a good amount...so how many of these people are there?"
"He spent years gaining followers, Lils," Adria frowned, turning to the stove to flip the bacon that sizzled, "there's probably tons of them. You heard what Dumbledore said, he's evil but persuasive - he persuaded a lot of beasts to join him."
"How was your mission?" asked James, turning to Finn and Milo, "I know you don't actually like to kill."
"I don't think anyone actually likes to kill, babe," Lily laughed softly, shaking her head and Adria laughed along quietly.
"You know what I mean!"
"I don't like killing but I make myself do It," Milo said, "It's for the greater good."
"I tried," Finn whispered, "but its...hard."
"Of course, it is, Finny," Adria frowned, turning and moving behind him to wrap her arms around him, "we're all just teenagers, we shouldn't have to kill anyone. You do a lot for the order, you tend to wounds and patch people up and if that's all you can do then it's enough. If you weren't there, then some people could bleed out.
We don't have any proper healers, do we? But you're great at it, and you know a lot of plants that help the healing process," she kissed his cheek, "you should be proud of what you're able to do, Finn. Don't think it's not a lot because it's more than what some people can do.
It's not about your abilities, but your ability to try and you're incredibly hard-working."
Finn smiled, silently nodded and took Milo's outstretched hand.
"I love you all," Finn quietly whispered, one hand tightened into a hard fist and the other squeezing Milo's hand as he leaned his head on Lily, "so much."
"Did I just walk into some sort of love fest?" a tired Sirius grumbled, his hands running over his face and Adria turned to greet him, laughing softly and pushing herself up to kiss his cheek.
"Good morning," she whispered in his ear, brushing her lips against his cheek and he nodded.
He dipped his head to her ear so that none of their friends could hear his words and whispered, "it certainly is after...last night."
She lightly whacked his chest, glaring at him and turning so that the blush spread across her cheeks couldn't be seen by her friends.
"You know, Sirius," Lily grumbled, a yawn soon escaping her lips as she pushed herself up, "my morning was great until I saw you shirtless."
"Are you just jealous that I have better abs than your fiancé?" Sirius smirked, turning his back to them and wrapping his arm around Adria.
"Oi, Padfoot?" James snickered, nudging Lily who was trying to keep her giggles in as best as she could, and the boy soon looked over to see Milo with his mouth biting his fist to stop from laughing too loudly.
