Chapter 6
A groan escaped Adria's lips when the sound of her alarm clocked rang through the room, ringing her ears and allowing her head to pound in the early morning. Sirius stirred beside her, his breath tumbling onto her neck as his head nuzzled into the warmth she emitted, his arm automatically clutching her tighter as he was awoken from his deep sleep, a frown already on his lips at the annoying sound.
"Please just five more minutes," he grumbled, failing to lift his head to see Adria furiously whacking the alarm clock to finally turn it off, a sigh of relief tumbling from her lips when the noise finally stopped, "I don't want to get up."
"Neither do I," she huffed, turning around to face him, "I wish we could stay here all day."
He lifted his head, a yawn escaping his lips and soon did the smile fall onto his lips at the sight of her, running a hand through her tangled morning curls, "wouldn't that be brilliant," he sighed softly, leaning forward to kiss her.
"I'm dreading today," she admitted, frowning ever so slightly and soon reaching for his hand, "what if Jude cries, merlin, Sirius we both know I wouldn't be able to cope with that! what if I take him to work with me, I mean he's adorable, the customers would love him!"
"Adria," Sirius laughed softly, "as much as Jude is the most adorable thing in this world, second to you, I'm not sure customers are going to be so happy to see a three-year-old running around."
"Maybe," Adria mumbled, pushing herself closer and wrapping her arm around his stomach, "please promise me we'll make time for each other."
"Wha- Adria of course we will," he sighed softly, "I'm sending Dumbledore a letter soon about the war, about how I'm fighting for the both of us. I'm not the boss of you but if you think I'm even remotely going to let you fight whilst you're pregnant-"
"Oh, what are you gonna do about it?" she teased, turning to face him, "all I want to do is keep Jude safe, that is all I want to do, keep Jude safe, keep you safe, merlin, I couldn't cope with the thought of losing any of you. I'm worried about our friends too, Sirius, I think the only ones not in the order yet are us and Tallulah and Gully and that's because they're off travelling, like he just lost his family, he doesn't need to deal with this either!"
"Adria, you don't need this stress," Sirius sighed, "come on, baby girl, let's not think of this right now - let's think of you going and being the best worker that bakery has ever seen," he turned around so that he was hovering over her, pressing soft kisses to her cheeks whilst she couldn't help but smile, "and that Jude is going to have the best time at nursery, and make lots of friends, and be content playing with other kids."
"Let's also think about how hot you look with your hair all messed up," she teased, moving her hand to mess up his hair even more before her hand trailed down to the back of his neck, pulling him into her and connecting their lips.
"Pad!" the muffled sound of Jude's voice from the other room was enough to break the two of them apart, chuckles emitting from their lips as they both stood. Adria went first, trying to blind her eyes from the sunlight entering the hallway on her way to Jude's room whilst Sirius followed behind her, slipping his arm around her waist whilst she laughed softly.
"Addy!" Jude exclaimed, rolling over in his crib and soon pushing himself up, visibly brightening when Sirius walked in behind her, "Pad!"
"Jude!" Adria giggled, scooping him up, "are you ready to make some friends?"
"No, I have plenty of friends thank you very much," he huffed, "I think we need to talk, Addy."
"Oh, do we?" Adria smirked, sitting down on the chair in the corner of the room whilst Sirius watched, leaning against the wall with a smirk similar to Adria's resting on his lips.
