Chapter 8

"Ads?!"

"Yeah?!" Adria called from the kitchen, eyeing the oven one again to see how much longer it would take for the shortbread to bake. The clock on the wall clearly said that it would be at least ten more minutes but she was getting impatient, and waking up this morning with an annoying craving for shortbread and many recipes to learn, she really wanted it there and then.

"You alright?" Sirius shuffled into the kitchen, seeing her glare at the oven he couldn't help but laugh, throwing his arms around her, "it'll be ready soon, babe, you'll hear the time just come through and watch Alice in Wonderland with us, yeah?"

She leaned her head on his chest, a sigh tumbling from her lips, "it's taking too long."

"When will the bread be ready?!" an impatient Jude hurried into the kitchen, a sigh tumbling from his lips, he spoke, "it's taking too long!"

"Okay that was weird," Sirius teased, scooping Jude up into his arms and reaching for Adria's hand, "come on you two weirdo's, it'll be ready when it's ready."

"Okay that was just mean," Adria pouted, falling onto the couch and allowing Jude to climb onto her stomach, his small hand trailing over her face as they watched the film. Adria's eyes left the TV when she felt something nudge her leg and couldn't help but smile at the sight of Padfoot leaning against her legs.

She moved her hand, running it through Padfoot's hair whilst he nuzzled against her, soon climbing to the side of her whilst Jude squealed in excitement. He threw his arms around Padfoot's neck, grinning when the dog licked his cheek whilst the giggles tumbled from his mouth in a new form of excitement. Adria watched with love in her eyes at the sight of Jude being so happy, it was absolutely adorable to see him so fond of Padfoot.

It made her wonder about getting a real dog.

"Okay boys," Adria announced, "as much as this film is incredible, I'm getting impatient," she pushed herself up, groaning when Padfoot took hold of her cardigan, and attempting to pull her back down. She couldn't help the laugh that escaped her lips, holding the dog's face in her hands she loved how adorable he was, and kissed the top of his fluffy head whilst he tried his best to lick her, catching her cheek whilst she moved away from him, giggling as she done so.

Padfoot jumped down, quickly transforming into Sirius and reaching for a still laughing Adria who moved to take his hand, "you can't just turn into Padfoot, Sirius Black."

"Why not?" he pouted, suddenly smiling when she kissed his lips.

"Because you're too cute," she huffed, almost groaning when Jude jumped onto her from the couch, completely oblivious to her head falling onto Sirius, "you're getting heavier!"

"Adria," Sirius whispered in her ear, seeing her turn to him, he nudged to Jude, "we both know he shouldn't do that."

"He's just having a bit of fun," she frowned, seeing the look on his face deepen, she sighed, "you're a monster."

She fixed Jude so he was sitting against her knees, "Jude you know it's not very good when you jump on me like that."

"Why not?"

"Because it hurts me, and it could hurt the little baby," she sighed, running her hands through the front of his hair, "and we don't want that, do we?"

Her lips parted when she saw his lip quivering, and soon did the tears roll down his cheek as he threw himself forward, his arms tightly wrapped around her neck, "I didn't want to hurt you, Addy!" he sobbed, just tightening his grip when she wrapped her arms around him.
