"Act normal." Jasmine links my arm with hers, whispering into my ear whilst we walk from the carpark to the airport. "We are just a group of friends going for a short weekend trip."
I nod stiffly. Wait, how do I act normal again? I start tensing up.
"Relax." Julius slings his arm around my shoulder. I inhale deeply. Wow, he smells so.. wow. He whispers lowly. "Jasmine's an idiot."
I glance to Jasmine who was currently rolling her eyes.
"I can hear that, you dumb ass." Jasmine hisses. Werewolf hearing. Epic. It's a weird feeling to be with people like me for once.
He rests his head on my shoulder, tying to hide a smile forms. My body hums, the most calm but excited its ever been. If that makes any sense. I don't question it.

"Good evening." The airport staff looks at me. I return a small hello. I could hear the yawn she was keeping from her voice. I study her. This maybe won't be so scary after alll. "Travelling alone?"
"Nope! With friends." I kept my answer short and sweet, motioning to Jasmine and Julius behind me in the line. If she were to ask any more questions though, I would be in a deep pile of elephant dung.
Instead of pressing on other questions, her eyes lit up and her jaw dropped. What? I follow her line of sight and realise that it was locked on Julius. He was looking back at us with a breathtaking smile, tilting his head slightly as he looks at me to as if to ask if everything is okay. I turn back to the lady.
The counter lady who looked only a few years older than me seemed entranced. Really entranced. Should I help her wipe off her drool or something? Awkwardly, I cough her back to reality.
"Damn." She shakes her head and stamps my passport, dazed, before handing it back to me. "He's real easy on the eyes, huh."
"I get what you mean." I fangirl a little too. I'm not really jealous, but rather excited that I'm not the only one that is going crazy over his looks. My wolf, on the other hand. Brr. Cold cannot describe how she is feeling towards this girl.
"Are you two together? I can't imagine any girl that wouldn't want to snatch him up."
"No-" I open my mouth, then close it.
"It's complicated?"
I nod.
"That's all I need, sis. Have a nice flight." She passes me my passport and practically shoos me away.
I purse my lips as I walked away slowly. Hmph. Using my were hearing, I snooped a little on their conversation.
"Single?" The lady was definitely not speaking to him the way she did me. Her voice was higher-pitched and almost airy.
"Excuse me?" I can hear his voice.
"Is a handsome guy like yourself single-"
I cam't take this. Shaking my head, I quicken my pace to get out of there before my wolf tried anything. Forget being excitedand mutual fangirling. I was pissed.
After a short while of waiting, Julius joins me. We keep quiet. A little while after that, Jasmine follows.
"Wow, that girl seemed to be in a very happy mood." Jasmine comments.
My teeth clench together tightly at that comment, eyes focused on the ground as we walk. My wolf growls, pushing forward but I held her back steady. She is snapping wildly now, no words, no insults, nothing. Gosh. I'm starting to feel a surge of immense jealousy too. Her feelings are almost mine now.
I could feel my hands trembling slightly. No. I clench my fists tightly. I can't shift here, though I felt my time to shift was long overdue. I can't lose control. Not when we are so close to escaping.
You better hold on.
The fire in me was burning hot even as I sat on my seat in the plane, ready to scald anyone who got too close. I felt a hand touch my shoulder. Ahh. My first victim.
"You okay?" He asks, his voice cool, collected and unaware. I decided to keep quiet and ignore him, although my insides were churning in all this negative emotions. Didn't anyone tell him that fanning a flame would only make it bigger?
"Well." His face becomes a little hard and distant after I ignore him, but his voice gives away a little hint of soft disappointment. He then sits in the seat beside me. "Rest well. We'll be reaching afternoon tomorrow."
