"Hey Andrea!" Alice chirps. I look at her and notice that she's wearing a big grin on her face.

I nod at her before taking out my books from my locker.

"Did you study for the chem test?"

I shrug, adjusting the books in my hand. It wouldnt make a difference anyway. My head pains started coming back yesterday after school and I couldn't concentrate properly on anything. I could hardly sleep. I let out a yawn.

"You're really chatty today, huh." She sulks after a long period of silence, walking past me.

I closed my locker door and locked it with my key. My head starts pounding again and I pinched the section between my two eyebrows to try and relieve the pain. It was useless. I sigh and caught up with Alice.

"Look. I'm sorry, i'm just having a really crap day."

"It's okay," She slings an arm me.

A loud pounding in my ear makes me grunt. Stupid pain.

"Head pains again?" She looks at me with concern. I nod. "My poor baby, I shouldn't have been so hard on you."

We walked down the sparkly clean corridor that hinted of febreeze. The only time that this place would seem less than desirable is when the juniors- who haven't discovered the invention of the deoderant or figured to use the school's wonderful shower facility- have last period PE. I have noted that 1A's PE time on Friday produces the worst of all the stenches. I whip out my phone. There was one unread message.

Ma: Are you still having the pains, dear?

I type.

Me: Yes ma

She immediately goes online and types back.

Ma: Remember to take your meds okay? I know you don't want to but that's an order, you hear me?

I sighed loudly, keeping my phone in my pocket. My phone beeps. Damn it. I looked at it once again.

Ma: DON'T IGNORE ME, YOUNG LADY. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!

I grumbled, staring at the phone.

Ma: Andrea....

Ma: :'(

Me:... Ok fine.

I turned off my phone immediately, pissed. If you thought the headaches were bad, the meds were killer. Sure it stopped the pain eventually, but for the solid hour after I drank it - if I weren't knocked out from the pain that is - I would go into a frenzy.
