----It has been another month and I have been counting down the days till my birthday. I've managed to convince Alex to let me off this week to spend my time with ma and Alice, or what's left of it.
Alice had commented about how it was weird that I was really busy all the time but suddenly cleared my schedule for them. I told her that it was my 'cheat week' and that she'd better get a good dose of me before I disappear again.
If only she knew how literal that statement was.
Today after school was supposed to be our girl's day out where try out Doctor Fish treatment. Its apparently sticking your feet into a pool of dead-skin eating fish. I imagine that it'll be a hard time for me, considering that I am super ticklish. Oh well.
"Andrea, I love the pants you chose for me yesterday." Alice gushes. She really must've loved it so much that she didn't bother to wash it yesterday before wearing it out today. We were heading for Alice's car in the school parking lot after studying in the library for a few hours, when I saw two figures standing in front of Alice's car from a distance. It was in the evening time, the sun setting, making the two figures standing there even more frightening. Alice hasn't noticed them yet, nor noticed me becoming eerily silent. My wolf stands on edge.
A smell so good enters my nostrils, clouding my brain. I tried to wreck my brain for answers. What happens when you smell something really good coming from another person? Think. Think. I stopped Alice from walking, just to figure it out.
Mate! My wolf yips out.
Damn you. You could've given me a few seconds more to figure it out, I chided to my wolf. Wait. My bones chilled as I thought about the only reason for him being here in this country. My mate. The rogue boy. Julius. Him being here in this country meant that he was my pick-up ride. Today is the day I leave this country. And leave them.
"It is so good that- wait. Why did you stop?" Alice asks in confusion. I pointed to the two figures who now were leaning on the side of her door. The other male beside my mate was someone I've never seen before. Who in the world is he? Alice gasps.
"Oh no! C-could they be... thugs?"
Oh how I'll miss Alice.
"Alice. Look at me. Look at me," I turn her head towards me. She is shaking. "everything is going to be fine. Don't scream or anything, k? I'll go talk to them for a sec."
Alice grips my arm before I could take a step forward. She shakes her head frantically. "Don't do it."
"Alice. They're my friends."
Her shoulders relaxed a bit, revealing to me that she was extremely tensed. "But-but.. you look like you're about to cry."
I felt wetness at the edge of my eyes. Shit. I realise my heart had clenched as well. But being scared of the two guys wasn't the reason why I was about to cry.
"They're long lost friends. I miss them. Remember back in the day when I was away for camp?" I wiped away at my eyes before anything could really spill out. The fake camp story; a fast thinking on my part. "Excuse me, i'll need to talk to them."
I get out of her grip and sprint (human speed, of course) towards the two. I stopped in front of Julius.
"It's time?"
Gosh he smells so good.
They looked down at me and nodded almost at the same time. The only difference was that Julius had his nostrils flared a bit, his pupils dilated as he stared at me. Both our eyes then land to the person beside him. I snuck a peek at Julius who was staring at the guy accusingly. His face in real life, wow. My heart flutters. I bring my attention back to the guy.
