"Jc?" I ask again, my arms still around the boy.
The figure in front of me looks so much like him. His hair is dark brown, he's wearing a tribal print snap back, and he's only a few inches taller than me.
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" The boy asks when he turns around. It isn't Jc.
"I'm Ashley. I thought you were my boyfriend. Sorry." I explain.
By this time Kian is behind me with his hand on my shoulder.
"Is that your boyfriend?" The boy asks, pointing to Kian.
"Oh, no. He's my friend and my boyfriend's best friend. We're trying to find him." I say.
"Well I'm Cody. What's your boyfriend's name?" Cody asks.
"Jc." I say.
"Never heard of him, but if you ever need a hand with finding him, like if he isn't around, don't hesitate to give me a call." Cody says, handing me a piece of paper with his number on it.
"Thanks." I say and put the piece of paper in my pocket.
"Ashley, we should keep looking." Kian says.
I nod and wave good bye to Cody, who immediately goes back to shopping.
"Well that was weird." Kian says when we get out of the store.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"He just seemed, I don't know, weird." He explains.
"He was just trying to help." I say.
"Or get in your pants." Kian tells me.
I slap his arm.
"Don't defend him. You don't even know him. I could be right." Kian says.
I nod because he probably is right.
When we get back to the car, we continue to drive around LA. No sight of Jc anywhere.
"I think I'm gonna try to call him." I tell Kian.
I dial Jc's number. It rings three times and then I hear muffled sounds.
"Jc?" I ask.
No answer.
"Hello?" I say.
Instead of trying to get his attention, I try to listen to what he's saying.
"How much do you want to take me to the airport?" Jc asks somebody.
"Fifty." The other person says.
"Fine. Let's go." Jc says.
I quickly hang up the phone and turn to Kian.
"What?" Kian asks.
"Get to the airport as fast as you can!" I scream.
Kian makes a quick U-turn and speeds down the road.
I then dial Ricky's number.
"Hello?" Ricky answers.
"No time for Chipotle. Get to the airport. Now." I tell him and then hang up.
I then decide to start playing Do I wanna know? by Artic Monkeys because I feel that it's a pretty bad ass song and it's quite needed to set the mood.
