"You did what?!" Brooklyn asked Jazzy after she told Brooklyn her news. "How did you even get into contact with Lin if you don't even know.... Oh my fucking God you're Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas-Jones and you're both in Hamilton, how did I not realise this?!?!" Brooklyn was now pacing around her bedroom, trying to find an outfit to wear to the theatre with little success. "Brooklyn I'm sorry! I just wanted to help make your dreams come true!" Jazzy replied sadly. Brooklyn's facial expression softened once she heard this "No no Jazzy it's not your fault! I really appreciate it, I just wish I was prepared." She said as she gestured at the state she was in. They both chuckled at her poor organisation skills and Jasmine helped her pick out a dance outfit for her audition. Anthony then came in with three coffee cups and a bag of pastries. "Hey, Brooke I didn't know what you like so I just got you a hot chocolate" "Thanks Ant!" "No problem, now let's go! We're gonna be late". The three then went to Anthony's car and blasted show tunes on the way to the Richard Rogers Theatre, where Hamilton was preparing to go on Broadway.
Brooklyn took her time walking round the theatre, soaking in the atmosphere and admiring all the equipment as much as she could while Anthony and Jasmine were dragging her to the stage, where Lin was talking to the cast. "Yo Lin! We brought her!" Anthony hollered as they walked on stage from the back wings, gaining the attention of the whole cast. Lin beamed with excitement and walked over to greet the three. "You must be Brooklyn! It's so nice to meet you! I'm-" but was interrupted before he could finish "Lin Manuel Miranda. It's an honour meeting you, I'm a huge fan." She smiled, trying to make a good impression.
"Okay so I already know you can sing thanks to Jasmine but we're gonna have you sing some parts of different songs to see what parts suit your voice" Lin explained. "Okay" Brooklyn replied as she followed Lin to the piano. She instantly recognised the first song as Helpless and sang the whole way through, with the cast singing Lin's part and speaking Angelica's lines in unison, which she stifled a laugh to, as she didn't want Lin to think badly of her. The cast clapped as she finished the song, all amazed by the amount of control she has over her voice. "Well I'm now going to have to match that if I want to keep my job." Philippa joked which made the whole cast laugh and Brooklyn nervously chuckled. The next song was satisfied to which she sang again and the cast filled in the other parts. The next song was wait for it,which Brooklyn personally believed was her best performance out of the ones she sang, as at the end Leslie himself got up onto the stage and hugged her, telling her how incredible she is. She then sang one last time with Lin, which has always been a dream of hers since she first listened to it. Finally the last song struck her by surprise. They asked her to rap Lafayette and Jefferson's parts in Guns and Ships and Washington on your side, which she was terrified for. When hearing this request, the cast got excited and started chatting to each other about the song, while one persons head poked up and he leant forward in interest. She made eye contact with the person and she felt her knees buckle in fear as the music began. She shut her eyes as the cast shouted "LAFAYETTE" and allowed the music to take over her as she rapped the lines perfectly, emphasising every syllable and making sure it was clear. After doing this for both songs Brooklyn opened her eyes to see the same person approaching her on the stage. She took the time to take in his features while he was still a distance away. He was tall and muscular, with big poofy black hair that was in ringlets. His eyes were a chocolate brown and he has stubble on his chin and his jawline. (A/N the most awful description ever I'm so sorry) She was snapped out of her daze when she saw a hand wave in front of her face...
