"Yo! Girl in the yellow raincoat!"
Brooklyn looked up to see Daveed leaning out of a window at their apartment, smiling.
However, Daveed smile instantly faded when he saw Brooklyn's state. "Come inside and we'll talk yeah?" He offered, and Brooklyn replied with a nod.

Daveed was waiting with the door open when Brooklyn got to their apartment, ready to give her a much needed hug. She walked straight into his embrace and sighed.
"Do you want to tell me what's going on?" He said after a while, to which Brooklyn nodded and shuffled inside, heading towards the sofa, whilst Daveed got a blanket and wrapped it around the two of them. "Whenever you're ready." He said with a small smile.

"I was at my audition today and somehow I made it through all of the dance rounds and I was so proud of myself and so relieved. But then it was the singing rounds and they cut me off in the second bar and escorted me out. I didn't know what I did wrong and so I waited for one of the casting directors to come out of the room. When she did come out, I asked her for advice and she told me not to quit my day job and that I'm not good enough for broadway." She recited with tears welling up in her eyes. "I mean, I know I should be prepared for rejection but I just didn't know it could be that harsh." She said while wiping her eyes.

"Smalls, please don't listen to her. You are incredibly talented and gifted and those casting directors don't know what they're missing. That's just what three people think, not everyone sees you in that way. I mean, look at Lin. You wouldn't be in the cast if he thought that you weren't good enough. You're a firecracker, Brooklyn, and please don't let just one opinion change that, okay?" He replied, swinging his arm around her shoulder and pulling her in close. "Did you get the name of this woman?" He asked.
"I think it's Melissa Bright or something like that." She mumbled in response.
"Well, I've never heard of her, so she's obviously not that relevant anyways." He sassily claimed, making Brooklyn give a light chuckle.

There was a minute or so of silence, before Brooklyn got up. "I think I'm just gonna go to bed. Thanks Dav." She weakly smiled and ruffled his curls, before going to their room and shutting the door behind her.

Daveed's heart broke for the girl. He knew how passionate she was and how hard she worked for that audition and he desperately wanted her to feel better. After searching "Melissa Bright" for an hour, an idea popped into his head and he pulled his phone out of his pocket.

"Lin, I need your help."
