The three made it back down to the stage and Brooklyn took a seat in the stalls while the rest of the cast prepared to run through the show. As soon as the music for "Alexander Hamilton" began, she felt herself be transported into the story and was loving every second of it. She laughed at Groff and his mannerisms, and of course cried at "stay alive;reprise" and "who lives who dies who tells your story". Once the run was over, Brooklyn was a teary mess as she stood up and applauded the cast. She made eye contact with Daveed, who gave her a cheeky wink as everyone sat on the stage, listening to their notes.
"Brooklyn! Andy is ready to take you through the choreography now." Lin said "Okay!" She chirped. In reality, Brooklyn was terrified. She knew she wasn't the best dancer, and the choreography looked very different to what she had done before. "Okay, so Brooklyn since there are so many numbers to learn we are going to break it up into segments. Today you will be learning the choreography and spacing for Burr, and tomorrow it will be Angelica and so on, Okay?" He questioned. Was she ready? It wasn't too late to back out now. "Okay." Brooklyn nervously replied. "Brilliant. Let's go guys!"
Hours later, Brooklyn had finally learnt all of Burr's choreography and performed it to Andy's standard. She slouched as she joined the rest of the cast on stage. She trudged next to Daveed, who was wearing a smirk on his face, clearly amused by Brooklyn's exhaustion, but he wrapped an arm around her shoulder to steady her none the less. "Okay guys well done today! You're free to go." Lin announced, stifling a yawn. The cast said their goodbyes and made their separate ways. Daveed guided Brooklyn to the stage door, his arm still around her shoulder.
"Hey, Dav?" Brooklyn asked sweetly. "What do you want now, smalls?" He teased. "I know it's a bother but could you give me a lift back to my apartment?" She questioned "Actually, no it's ok I'll walk, I'm so sorry for always asking for favours." She began to walk away until a tug at her hand stopped her. She almost froze when she realised Daveed reached out for her hand. He tugged on her hand again and gently pulled her to him, "Brooklyn, first of all you're not a bother at all, I wish that I could show you how amazing I think you are. And secondly, I'm not going to let you walk home by yourself at eleven at night." he replied, while taking her hand once more, leading him to this car. Brooklyn smiled slightly whilst looking at their intertwined hands. It was strange, whilst around previous boyfriends and even Colin, she would feel flustered and self conscious when any type of contact was involved, but with Daveed? It felt natural to Brooklyn. She was comfortable around him, which was something she had found hard during her previous relationships.
"So, come on England, tell me about yourself." Daveed said once they were in his car. "England? That's the best you've got?" Brooklyn teased "And also I've already told you about myself, there's nothing else to know." She replied chuckling "Hmm... how about music? There's got to be some British classics that I haven't heard, show them to me." Daveed pushed "Okay there are a few, where's your aux chord?" She replied, a meek smile on her face.
Daveed burst out laughing when the opening chords to "Wonderwall" by Oasis played through the speakers of his car. "Oh my god smalls, you think that I don't know this song? It's a classic!" "I'm sorry I panicked!" She replied giggling. This continued for a while until Brooklyn realised she was nowhere near her apartment. "Um, Daveed, why are we on the highway?" (A/N i didn't know if it was called a highway or a freeway lolll sorry) she asked curiously. "I'm actually not sure. I was going to take you on a drive because it's dark and it's one of my favourite things to do, but we can go back if you want to go ho-" He hastily replied until Brooklyn placed her hand on top of his own that was controlling the gear stick, cutting him off. "Hey it's ok, I love driving in the dark too!" She chirped.
They drove on the highway for a bit in comfortable silence until "better together" by Jack Johnson began to play. "I love this song" they both exclaimed in unison before chuckling once more. They began to sing the words in unison and, coincidentally, they both stole a glance at eachother at the same time when singing "It's always better when we're together" . At this point they were both aware that something was bringing them together, and both Brooklyn and Daveed hoped that it would go further.

(A/N hello I finally uploaded! I'm so sorry, I had the worst writers block! And I finally have some more ideas for chapters and they are coming together quite nicely! I hope you're liking the story so far!💞)
