Chapter 6 - Family Time

Chapter 6.

The driver is taking me, Luke and Graham to my family's house after putting most of our things in the hotel the boys are staying at. We'll be staying there on the last night in Manchester but other than that we're staying in my bedroom at my childhood home.

"What do you want to do tonight then babe?" I turn to face Luke.

"Am I boring by saying, just stay in?" he chuckles softly, "I'm so tired, and it's the only time we had to ourselves, can we just stay in and watch a film?"

I smile, "of course it is, I don't care what we do as long as it's with you"

"You absolute cheese ball!" he laughs.

"We're here" Peter the driver says, he gets out the car and opens the door for me before moving to the car boot and getting our luggage out.

"Thank you" I smile getting out and grabbing my suitcase.

"Kayla! Luke!" my mum shouts opening the door.

"Hey" I smile walking up the path way.

"How was the flight?" she asks hugging me, then Luke.

"Long but we slept for most of it" I laugh, "mmmm, what are you cooking? It smells good"

"Your favourite, corned beef hash" she smiles.

"YES!" I grin. "You need to try my mum's corned beef hash Luke! It's amazing!"

"I've never even had it before" he pulls his face.

"It's amazing, just trust me, you'll like it!" I smile to him, he gets my suitcase and his, "I'll take these up, out of the way"

When he comes back down my mum has made me and Luke a cup of tea and we're sat in the front room. He slots onto the sofa next to me and I snuggle into him.

"So are you ready for the arrival of the baby?" my mum coos.

"Yeah, pretty much, we've moved into our apartment now and the boys have postponed the LA trip and we're going home at the end of the week ready" I grin.

"That's so weird that its home now, it's not sunk in" she sighs.

"Hey guys" Lee grins coming in.

"Hey Bro" I smile as he hugs me and fist bumps with Luke, sitting at the other side of me. My dad follows him in and sits next to my mum. "Hey dad"

"Hey sweetheart, hiya Luke" he smiles warmly, "look at your baby belly!"

"I know" I giggle.

"Not long now!" Lee says, "Till my niece or nephew is here"

"Nope, I'm half way through, it's going to fast!" I gush.

"I'm going to have to get my ticket sorted to come and visit you then won't I!" he laughs.

"Yeah it means you get to see the boys again though" I smile at him.

"I know, Freddie said he popped into see you, I still skype them all" he says sadly.

"I feel like I'm going to lose both of my children to Australia" my mum looks upset.

"You know what the solution is then Mum!" Lee looks at her.

"Don't forget me, Luke and the baby are moving to LA for a bit though" I say taking hold of Luke's hand.

"My daughter, the jetsetter. Who'd have thought it!" my dad gasps looking happy.

"Yep" I grin.

"I think we'd better get tickets to Australia too then" he smiles.

"That would be great, and it means you can meet my family too" Luke joins in the conversation.

"Good point Luke. Dad you need to meet Luke's mum Gina and his grandparents, you also need to meet Jim and Rose who took me in. Although you'll get to meet the rest of the gang tomorrow, I've invited them round, they really wanted to meet you"

"That sounds lovely, I can't wait to meet them" my mum says coming in from the kitchen, "tea is ready."

I finish in the shower and go through to my room where Luke is lay on my bed, hair wet from his shower, he's going through one of my photo albums.

"You were so cute" he chuckles.

"Were?" I pretend to be shocked, putting my PJ shorts and vest top on and getting on the bed next to him.

"Yeah back then you were cute, now you're hot!" he smirks. "And pretty and beautiful" he compliments.

I laugh, "thanks baby, not so bad yourself. What film do you want to watch?"

He looks through Netflix on my TV and chooses the Hunger Games 2. "We never did watch this!"

"Mmm oh yeah" I murmur, snuggling into him. "You smell so good"

He chuckles, "I'm glad it's just us two tonight, it's been such a busy 3 weeks, I'm ready to go home and sleep for a month."

"Home" I smirk, "We've got our own home, I still can't believe it"

"I know, I never thought this would be our life 6 months ago" he says playing with my hair.

"It's gone so quick but the second half will go so much quicker and then we'll be a little family" I smile up at him, his lips come crashing down on mine, "I can't wait" he murmurs on my lips.

Let's just say, we never did watch the Hunger Games part 2 ;)

We sleep in till late, and then help my mum make dinner for everyone; she's cooking a big roast dinner. At 4pm the doorbell goes and Luke lets them in and takes them through to the garden as it's such a rare nice day for February. Me and my family join them, "mum, dad this is Jai and Beau, Luke's brothers, James, Daniel, Georgia and Katie ... Guys, this is Karen and John" we hear a chime of "hi, hello's and heys"

"Best behaviour boys" I warn them.

I get them all a drink and go and sit outside with them, "what did you lot do last night?"

"Got take away and all sat in one room and chatted" Katie replies, "you?"

"Not much, just chatted to Kayla's family and then watched Hunger Games" Luke smirks at me.

"OH it's so good isn't it!" Georgia gasps.

"Erm, yeah" I laugh.

"What's funny?" Jai asks.

"Nothing" Luke chuckles.

"Anywayyyyyyyyyyyy, what are you doing tomorrow?" Beau asks, "Am I going to have to spend Valentine's day with Skip?!"

I look round the others and we're all nodding, "yeah I think you do mate" James laughs.

"Oh god" Beau groans.

"It's fine, I'll treat you right honey" Skip grins.

"We'll all just meet at the hotel for say, 4ish so we can get to the Academy and set up and stuff?" Luke chips in.

"Sounds like a plan" Jai grins.

"Dinners ready" my mum calls and we all pile in to the table, I've never heard it so quiet.

My friends and my family together, one word = amazing.
