Chapter 11 - Back to .. Normality?

Chapter 11.

It's been a few weeks since our bad news, I've decided to move back to Georgia's house as the only reason I moved out was because of the baby, so we moved out, Luke moved back to his mums but we still see each other all the time. We sold all our furniture, we tried paying Gina and Rose back but we donated the money to a charity that helps girls like me get over miscarriages.

Rose and Jim are having a barbeque and pool party for us all, which is cool. I'm slipping into a red bikini, I've got no makeup on and my hair is down, slightly wavy. I hear a knock on my door,

"You ready Kay?" Georgia shouts.

"Yep, give me a sec" I shout back, slipping on an oversized shirt and flip flops, "Ready" I say walking out my door and linking arms with her walking down stairs.

"I'm glad your back" she smiles, and then frowns, "Sorry, I know it's under bad circumstances, but I missed having you just here, a door away to talk to!"

I laugh, "Don't worry, I know what you mean, I missed you too, it's not the same living with a horrible boy!"

"Was it bad?" Georgia gasps, eyes widened.

"No" I grin, "I loved it! But if it makes you feel better, think of him as a horrible smelly boy that was terrible to live with!" We both burst out laughing.

"This horrible boy loved it very much too" Luke says from behind us.

I jump, "I loved it too, it'll happen again, but under a different circumstance" I say as he slips his arms around me.

I hear the door go and Katie, James and Skip arriving, it's so nice being together, even Gina's here having a gossip with Rose, she arrives about 20 minutes ago with Luke, Jai and Beau. Everyone strips off and jumps in the pool as Jim puts some meat on the barbeque, Georgia presses play on her iPod so songs are playing out.

I take my shirt off slowly, wary of them looking at me.

"Looking good!" Jai grins, "Yeah flat stomach again!" Beau shouts, I smile weakly, "Sorry" he says biting his lip, "It's okay" I smile, covering my stomach with my arms.

"Keep your eyes off my fiancée you dickhead!" Luke says jumping on Jai's back trying to dunk him, I chuckle slightly.

"Kayla?" Rose says softly, I turn to look at her and Gina and she motions for me to go over, I sit down next to them.

"We just want to say we think you've coped really well with the last few weeks, we love you so much and are so proud" Gina says, her eyes filling up.

"I think you've dealt with it better than what I would have, you and Luke have come out of this stronger but I'm so glad you've come back home" Rose adds.

I feel water land on my back and Luke laughs, he comes up to me and sits on my knee getting me soaking.

"Eurgh Luke get off me!" I cry pushing him, but he loops his arms round my neck.

"Neverrrrr" he laughs, "but on a serious note I'm proud of you too, Evie will be gutted she never met her amazing Mummy but she'll be looking down on us and Graham and Tink!" Gina hands him something and he turns to me, "I got this for you" he puts a necklace round my neck, it's a locket and it's got the initials EB engraved on it and the picture of Luke kissing my stomach inside.

"It's beautiful" I gasp, my eyes welling up.

"For a beautiful girl" he whispers.

I turn round and hug him, "She will also hate that she never met the most amazing guy in the world, but she'll be with us forever"

He nods and kisses my lips and scoops me up bridal style.

"Luke Anthony Mark Brooks, don't you dare!" I shriek as he walks towards the pool holding me tightly.

"Or what?" he smirks as he runs the last few steps and jumps in.

"I hate you!" I splutter.

"As if baby!" he laughs.

The boys start messing around and splashing each other so we go and sit on the side on the pool watching them.

"How is it not living with Luke anymore?" Katie asks wrapping her towel round her.

"Don't even answer that Kayla, because he stays here every night so it's no blumin' different!" Georgia laughs.

"True! But it is different" I argue, "Plus the last few weeks have been emotionally draining so I'll literally just been getting into bed and sleeping" I admit.

"Whatttt? You and Luke have sex more than anyone I know, including myself!" Katie laughs.

I nod sadly, "Not anymore, since before...well you know."

"Oh god, sorry, I didn't know it was because of that" Katie says softly.

"It's okay" I smile, "It's my problem, not his, I keep telling him to wait, he's been so good."

"Well good, so he should, you've been through a lot" Georgia says, rubbing my shoulder.

"But so has he, and when I'm so consumed in my grief, I forget he's been through the same as me" I shrug.

"But you went through worse" Georgia sympathises.

"But anyway, let's not dwell! It's happened, I'm tucking that day behind me now, let's never mention it again." I smile, "right, let's go and eat."

It's getting dark and we've all eaten and I've showered and changed into trackies and a hoody and I've got Luke's head in my lap and I'm stroking his hair sat outside in the garden. I look down at him and he smiles up at me, I lean down and kiss his lips, my hand on his chin when I see a flash. I look up, "Beau!"

"Sorry" he laughs, "but it was a Kodak moment!"

"Dick!" Luke says but he laughs.

Jim comes out bring the boys beers and me, Georgia and Katie a bottle of rose, "could you take a picture of all of us please?" Beau asks holding his phone out, "sure" he says snapping a picture of us.

Beau puts it on Instagram and tags us all, it's so good we haven't had a picture in a while.

"Skip why you being a miserable cunt" Jai says.

"I'm not" he argues.

"You are though, aren't you?" Katie butts in.

"Me and Aly have split up" he sighs, looking at me and Luke, "and she's taken Alfie"

"WHAT?!" we all say together.

"And you didn't want to tell us because of what me and Luke have been through?" I look at him, he nods, "Please don't ever do that again, we're your friends Skip and we are here for you no matter what, like you all have for us."

He nods, "Sorry, I just didn't want to upset you either further, but yeah, she's taken Alfie and she's living in a bedsit about 20 minutes away. We've tried to make it work but it was only because of Alfie, but I want to see him so badly."

"She's stopping you from seeing him?" Georgia asks.

"No, but it's so hard going to see him when he's previously lived with me. Why do Mum's get to keep their child and not dads?" he sighs.

"Well why don't you get full custody of him?" Luke suggests.

"I can do that?" he asks.

"Of course you can, and I'll speak on behalf of all of us, we'll back you 100%!" I say looking at everyone.

"Of course we will!" Georgia says.

"I'll admit, I never thought in a million years you'd be an amazing dad, but you've proved us all wrong, I'm proud of you" James adds.

"That's it then guys, I'm going to get my son back!" he cheers.
