Chapter 15 - Decisions

Luke's POV

I get to Kayla's house and let myself in, "Hey Rose" I say making my way over to her and kissing her on her cheek.

"Hey Luke, go easy on her, she's in the garden" she smiles.

I wander into the back garden wondering what her comment meant and see Kayla under a blanket, wearing one of my jumpers chewing her nails, deep in thought.

"I told you, you have more of my clothes than I do" I laugh and sit next to her, pull her legs onto me.

"Huh?" she says snapping out of her thoughts.

"Nevermind, what's up? What did you get up to when I was gone?" I take her hand, entwining our fingers.

"I, uh, went for a run" she looks at me, I can see sadness in her eyes.

"Oh no" I smile, "Something's definitely up, you only run recently when something's bothering you."

I see her eyes brim with tears. "I lied to you before," I look at her confused, "I got the modelling contract"

"Oh my god! That's absolutely amazing! We're both getting our dream!" I grin and she shakes her head.

"You don't understand, it's here my job and you're going to L.A"

"Oh" I mumble.

"I've been thinking about it all day and I'm going to stay here Luke, it might not even work out, I might hate it and then I'll be there to join you in L.A" she says looking down at our hands.

"And if you love it?" I fear I know the answer already.

She shrugs, "We should just see how it goes."

"I can't do it without you by my side" I shake my head.

She nods, her tears spilling down her cheeks, "You can! You guys are awesome. I'm a skype call away anytime we want. But that's why I've came to another decision" she looks away from me.

I take a deep breath, "I 'm not saying to break up, I love you soooo much remember that, but I think we should take a break, L.A is going to be such an amazing experience and I don't want to hold you back, I'm giving you a free pass. Deep in my heart I know we are meant to be together but we got so serious so fast that I think you should play the field whilst I'm not there in L.A, I just ask you don't rub it in my face and stuff."

I put my hand on her chin and move her face to look at me, "Okay" I agree, even though my hearts torn in two.

"Okay?" she mumbles.

"Okay. Kayla, I'm not here to argue with you. If that's what makes you happy, then that's what we'll do. I can't see myself getting with anyone else but I appreciate the thought." I look at her and smile softly.

"As soon as I get to L.A we can be together again but if you feel tempted, go for it. I don't want to hold you back, I want you to come into marriage with me no regrets at getting with me whilst you were so young." She whispers.

"I would never think that but like I said if it puts your mind at rest, but I'll skype you every day. I love you" I lean forward and kiss her lips, she kisses me back.

Kayla's POV.

Two weeks later and Luke is driving my car to the airport, everyone else is getting there by taxi. In the past two weeks, nothing has changed between me and Luke, we've still acted the same, he's stayed at mine every night but now it's time to face reality, I've let my fiancé have a free pass in L.A because I've chosen my job instead. It's going great actually, I've met a couple of girls that are modelling the same magazine as me, they're taking me out tonight to get my mind off everyone going. Yep, everyone is going, Georgia and Katie are ditching me, who blames them though! Last night everyone came for a meal, I told everyone it wouldn't be long till I was there even if it was for a short holiday between shoots, I actually can't believe all my friends are leaving. Gillie's staying in Australia though, her and Beau broke up, it was a mutual decision, they just haven't been seeing each other as much as they wanted and I think she's thinking of moving back to England, she's so homesick. This morning, me and Luke had a breakfast date, he cooked for me and set up the table, and then spent the rest of the morning, you know ;) then we showered and popped into Gina's. We left a bit earlier than them lot just so we could say goodbye just us two.
