monday, it was always a bad day. but today, is was worse than ever. she woke up with a pounding headache, she didn't do any homework which would obviously affect her grade, she felt off in general. with her head pounding, she stood up and got into her hot bath. after putting on a pair of ripped blue jeans, a white t-shirt which she tied a knot in front of, a grey cardigan, and converse she walked down the stairs.
her frown was apparent and winona could obviously tell. she pulled the girl into a warm embrace, "what's wrong?" winona asked, pulling away from millie who shrugged. "just don't feel right about today... it's nothing i guess, whatever." she spoke, smiling a fake smile before sitting on a stool and eating the pancakes made for her and sadie.
first period class was a blur, with iris bombarding her with questions, the first period wasn't the best. period two was worse.
messages started to ring from her phone, after being asked to be excused she pulled out her phone, reading through her messages. her breath became shaky and her legs became jittery.
she pushed herself back into the room, knocking on the door and entering. "i need to go to the nurse, please." she whispered, making finn stand up quickly. the teacher didn't say much, just waved her finger towards the door. interlocking his fingers with millie he squeezed her hand, pulling her out the door and towards the nurse.
finn didn't question her, just stayed quiet and waited until millie spoke. finally arriving to the nurse the nurse began to check up on her, checking her temperature. she had a fever, but she knew that since the morning. she laid back on the bed, finn still grasping her hand tightly. "stay here, i need to call parents. winona harbour and david harbour, right?" her nurse asked, making finn nod for the younger girl.
the nurse left and millie burst out in tears. "when... everything happened with the bet, the same day i got some, uh... messages from my mom or whatever and she was threatening me and uh, it happened again today. i thought it was over but now i know, it'll never be over." she whispered, letting out a shaky breath. finn pressed a kiss to her blazing hot forehead.
"it'll stop, i'll make sure of it." he told her softly, kissing her hand before leaning back on his chair. "listen, when you go home, lay down and take a nap, drink some soup. i want your phone, pass it." he told her, grabbing the phone from millie's grip. he shoved it in his pocket. "she doesn't know my number so you can take mine. i'll come visit you during lunch. i'll be there." he smiled, grabbing his own phone and passing it to millie.
millie just smiled a bit, grabbing finn's phone and entering the password, since he told her it, and going straight to netflix. finally, the nurse came back in and told her her mom was waiting in the office. standing up with the help of finn, she dragged herself to the nurse. finn helped winona enter her in the car, pressing a kiss to her forehead and running back into class, sadie asking him a bunch of questions. he ignored her, telling her to ask millie. with an eye roll, sadie turned back to face the board.
lunch arrived, and since the school now allowed take out lunch finn and sadie walked out the school together. entering finn's car, sadie worried about her sister. the two drove to the nearest diner which they knew served soup, finn entering and buying millie chicken noddle soup (with a soda on the side), sadie a salad and himself a burger. he paid and drove straight to millie's home.
arriving, sadie took out her keys and opened the door, sliding her shoes off and walking up the steps, finn trailing behind her.
millie laid on her bed, winona sitting by her side and taking her temperature once more. "hi baby, feeling any better?" finn spoke softly as he entered, shuffling towards millie. sadie took the food and placed it on the table, smiling down at her sister. "hey, lovely. you good?" sadie asked, making finn roll his eyes.
"obviously not." finn told sadie and the red head just rolled her eyes at finn. winona stepped out after giving a hug to the two. sadie sat on the end of her bed, finn sitting next to millie and opening her soup. the soup was still warm, so he grabbed the plastic spoon. millie sat up and held her warm blanket to her. fillie, the pup, sat on sadie's lap as sadie tried to push her off to eat her salad.
"don't hit my dog! and here my love." finn yelled at sadie before turning his voice soft, holding a spoonful of soup to millie's mouth. with a sigh she opened her mouth, eating the soup carefully. "thank you, finnie." she mumbled softly, making finn smile. "anything for you, now here, eat." he told her and continued to feed her. millie cuddled up to him, eating the soup and sadie cringed at the two, but deep inside she loved their relationship so much.
after finishing, finn ate his own burger and realized they had twenty more minutes until class. fifteen minutes left with millie. he groaned, wrapping his arms around millie. "i'm sick, move." millie rolled her eyes, trying to push him away but there was no point. finn just ignored her, holding her tighter. millie gave up and pulled finn closer, her head on his chest. sadie texted caleb and took bunches of pictures of the couple before they had to leave.
