"why do they tell us now?" was all millie muttered as she walked through the crowded malls, full with girls trying to find a dress for the school dance. it's usually called the snowball, but they wanted to have it in the fall, so now it's fall-ball. even more corny than before, was what millie thought. the nine girls, since mackenzie wanted to come, scurried around dresses, trying to find something that fit them. "none of these dresses catch my eyes, i don't know." millie said to jazmine, running her hands through her short hair.
all the girls had found something, so they were just sitting, waiting for the short haired brunette to find a dress. her eyes caught a long, peach dress with white flowers on it along with black lace. "good enough." she spoke, tossing the dress to rowan who held it for her. she looked through shoes, finding a pair of black heels.
finally, all the girls paid and ran out the store, laughing about sadie tripping over her own two feet. the girls stopped by Jamba Juice, grabbing some smoothies before finally heading to sadie's and millie's house. winona was amazing at makeup and told the girls she would do their makeup look. once they arrived winona surrounded the girl with a bunch of snacks and all the girls threw out their makeup for winona.

it was now seven o'clock and millie was the only girl not done. winona was applying the lipstick to her lips, nodding in satisfaction with the girl. "now, go help her get her dress on!" she exclaimed and all the girl ran up, ready to see millie's look.
"wow, my best friend is gorgeous." sadie said, smiling over at the girl. millie just smiled thankfully as all the girls complimented her. finally, the limo arrived. the girls all chipped in to get a limo to drop them off and pick them up. entering, millie made sure to grab her songbook. she read over the lyrics, making sure she had them memorized. and with a glance at the driver, they were off.
they entered the rented out place together, all smiling at each other. millie held onto rowan's hand, pulling her to the dance floor. the two jumped around, singing the lyrics to the catchy, but annoying, pop song. millie grinned happily as rowan twirled her, letting out a loud laugh. she ran over to the table to see natalia being the person who passed out food and drinks. "pure fuel." natalia said with a grin, passing the punch to the smiling teen. "you look gorgeous today!" millie spoke to natalia, moving her head to the music.
"look who's talking, the prettiest girl in the room." natalia whispered to her, making millie laugh and shake her head. "thanks lovely, i'll be going! dance with me later." she yelled as she went back to the table the girls picked. she searched the room with her eyes to find finn sitting on a chair, sipping from the punch and chatting with jack grazer. she looked at him until he looked back, and quickly she turned her head to face ayla.
she stood up once the principal called her and she fully realized what was going on, she cursed to herself, nodding her head at the principal.
"now, we have the talented and beautiful millie brown singing a song for us tonight!"
