december 14 — friday
"jealous of what?"
both boys placed their attention to in front of them and came face to face with Jack and Ellie.
"Finn is jealous about yo-" Noah was instantly quiet as a hand was clamped over his mouth. a glare was thrown his way by Finn himself. Noah licked the boy's hand, making Finn release and groan in disgust.
"nothing. i'm jealous of nothing" Finn mumbled, wiping his saliva covered hand on his coat. Jack went to curious to upset within a split second.
"oh" there was that awkward silence. "so are you two a thing, or..?" Jack hesitated to ask. but it just seemed to slip as it was the one question that has been on his mind lately. even if the small boy promised to lose all connection or feeling towards Finn, he couldn't help but feel angry for seeing the two alone and together.
Noah and Finn jumped apart.
"oh, no! just best friends. who is this?" Finn wondered and pointing at the female, even though he already knew her name. the curly haired boy felt a nudge in his side to see that it was Noah glaring holes at him. Finn shrugged with an eye roll. he didn't care if he was being petty and rude. he just wanted his Jack back. and this Ellie girl was getting in the way.
"right. Finn, Noah this is Ellie. Ellie meet Finn and Noah" Jack introduced the three. she gave a wave, with a bright smile.
"i actually know Noah from a few classes. but it's nice to meet you Finn. Jack talks about you quite a lot" she chuckled. Finn flicked his gaze from the giggly girl and towards Jack who seemed to blush almost instantly.
"oh, does he now?" Finn asked in disbelief. "uh Jack, may i talk to you for a second?" Jack sighed before nodding his head. Finn mentally cheered grabbing hold of Jack's wrist dragging him away from both Ellie and Noah. the second the two were a good distance away, Finn dropped his hold and just stared. it's not like Jack minded. he was staring too.
Finn lifted his hand and moved a stray curl from out of Jack's eyes. the smaller boy felt a small grin tug at the corner of lips. Finn allowed his hand to linger, cupping Jack's cheek and caressing it gently with his thumb. the two missed moments like this between them. even if all of it was fake. even if all of it was just for show.
"i'm sorry for whatever i did to make you hate me" Finn spoke gently and dropping his hand. Jack almost instantly wanted it back. but that would be weird. so he settled on just grabbing Finn's hands and lacing their fingers together.
"i don't hate you" Jack whispered back.
"then why did you dump me out of nowhere? what did i do wrong?" Finn wondered getting upset. Jack let their hands go, before he placed his on Finn's shoulders.
"you did nothing wrong. someone i know has liked you for a very long time. and with us dating, that person would have never gotten a chance. i let you go, pushing my own feelings aside so that person could at least get your attention. and from what i seen, you definitely noticed" Jack explained. Finn shook his head, his curls bouncing lightly.
"but i don't want that person. i want you" the older boy confessed.
"i want you too" Jack replied. the two of them connected foreheads, eyes closed savoring the moment. "but we can't" the two stepped back from each other. "i promised i would back off. and i have. look Finn i have to go. i told Ellie i would hang out with her" the smaller boy got ready to leave, but was stopped as Finn moved so he was in front of him again.
"you know the group is hanging out too. but you wouldn't know because you're hanging out with your new girlfriend" Finn sassed, while Jack rolled his eyes a little amused.
"she's not my girlfriend. if you haven't noticed i'm gay. why does it matter anyway? i can hang out with whoever i want" Jack states back. and when Finn had became a flustered mess under a simple question, Jack smirked. "aw Finnie! are you jealous?"
"no! i'm not jealous."
"whatever you say Wolfhard. i gotta go. see you later" Jack patted his shoulder before leaving back to where Noah and Ellie stood. Finn hung his head groaning in frustration.
